This is one crazy CE. I don't think they are charging enough honestly. The Skyrim CE was $150 and had a joke of a statue.

No shit, even the CE of DAI is 20 bucks more and it's total poop!!
Now don't get me wrong, I plan to pay my $150x2 so I hope they don't jack the price up.

If you ordered it from Amazon, even if they do jack the price up, Amazon will charge you whatever the price was when you pre-ordered it.

That's cool, but what about gamestop because I already made my orders?
I don't think they can do that by law.

I'm not sure. It seems to be Amazon's policy, not a legal one.

Sorry for bothering you guys, but in this post you guys mentioned that there will be stores updating this week, any ideas will they got stores in Asia? Like Japan, or some sort, I live in Hong Kong and yes pre-ordering from that far is kind of hurt to my wallet

I know how you feel. There's been no news so far about stores in Asia. I assume you've already noticed that Play-Asia is selling both the US and European versions of the standard edition, and that they haven't updated with the actual product details yet, still a place-holder. I'm hoping we do hear something next week.

Fellow Canadian here. Worried as you are. A but of hope though, my friends friend works at EB Games and told her that we should be getting them soon. We know EB is slow as molasses, but they had the same issue with Skyrim, Diablo 3 and other collectors. I'd suggest checking Monday Wed and Friday. Have a hunch these are going to go ridiculously quick, so it'll prolly help all of us if we keep each other updated. Also, once I get mine, I'm more than happy to try to secure Pre-Order for you guys. Here's to hoping!

@BalckWolf500, Jack in the green, the rest.
As I said previously, if I lived in Germany, I would be pissed at CDPR for the difference. I suppose by this situation a lot of western european and americans can put themselves in shoes of gamers from less developed countries whenever new and hot game comes out.
I concur that shipping form Poland to Germany should be relativiely cheap, there`s no borders now when we are all in the UE.

I cannot though, agree with the other argument, one about low wages/high price to be specific. If we take say median household income or median salary of any developed country into consideration and compared it to those less developed, nobody can argue that difference in purchasing power of developed countries comparatevly to less developed ones (such as Poland) is 3-4 times higher. What does it means for a statistical Joe Bloggs?
It means whenever new game comes out with a price tag of 50-60 dollars(or euro) a guy from a less developed country must struggle to save money for the game for months( in case of my friends in Poland for 4-5 month even), whereas in developed country such an expense could be included within salary for one month of work.

I am not defending anyone here, I just want ppl to get the perspective. CE is a luxourios commodity, if someone wants just the game (myself included I got my DVD copy of TW2 for less than 20 euros) there are options to get it cheap.

If anyone will find an English version priced below 160 euros please let me know too...
Too expensive if you consider the other language versions and the delivery fees..

I have bought CE for the Witcher 2 on the first day it was possible... and sadly I have not bought the CE for the third one, and the reasons are pretty similar to many others here: much more cool content for a fair price, whereas I do not want a huge figurine (even if pretty) because I love to actually use the extra things i get. For instance I am using the dice all the time in warhammer. So if the RED's would release a "lite" version of the CE without the figurine, then I'll be getting one in no time.

Problem is that amazon uk had it listed to 97£ for a few hours, then it went up 33£.... I really think it should have to go back to that price... not fair :(

And what is worring me is that the PC - CE has been the top 1 on amazon.co.uk for 3 days so far.... how many preorders did they take for it? Will they be able to deliver all of them? Polish shop ony had 8000, amazon took more than 8000 for SURE.... and hell, I wouldn' want to be in charge to paint all those figures :p

I don't see it EXACTLY that way. I think that CDPR is one of the best if it comes to being non-capitalistic. They put a lot of effort in developing the packages and made sure they do NOT separate digital in-game content to sell it in the special editions, which is great.

I don't even think they themselves are mainly responsible for the huge price here.
But I think they might know how that comes together.

I mean hell, I get most of that stuff (except the Artbook, Steelbook, the Medallion and the Figurine) in the Standard Edition (Soundtrack, Map, Witcher Guide) it's amazing.

Just a shame the CE isn't a little cheaper or that there is a Light CE which is somewhere in between.

Oh I'm not blaming CDPR here. I'm pretty much in love with these guys as they are one of the few companies with real ethics. I am only curious as to why the price is so different. I'm sure CDPR could help explain this and it would be intersting to see how much they get out of that over inflated price that we have to pay in the UK.

Ok guys, I'll try to explain the pricing situation. Since I am Polish and have half of my life-savings in CDPR stocks I keep up with their business stuff.

About a year ago I heard CDPR's CFO Adam Kiciński speaking on polish CNBC about the margins they get from the game distributed by other distributors (WB Entertainment, Namco Bandai etc.). Although he did't come up with specific numbers, the interviewer was pretty insistent and started throwing numbers himself. On TW 2 their cut was way below 50%, moreless 30-40% of the full price. Now it's supposed to be considerably higher, but I don't think it exceeds 50%.

So I understand that CDPR wants to get their fair 25-30$ from every standard edition and about 50-60$ from the CE. (Don't quote me on these numbers though, these are very rough estimates). There is a problem with the game distribution in general, it's ridiculously expensive. When I go to the shop I don't pay 50-70% margin, goddamit!

As for polish pricing, let's compare it to Germany. Average young person working in Poland gets 4-5 times less money than he/she would in Germany. And the prices are lower here, by 30% or so in general. This is the reason for piracy here. More than half Polish gamers will play the pirate version of the game anyway. If the standard ed. cost 60$ here, noone would buy it. So, by price comparison - CDPR does not charge for the distribution in Poland which is very fair of them.

However, guys - the prices on GOG.com are great! 35EUR for the standard ed. with so many bonuses? That's a great value for money IMO.

For this price (140€ for me) they could really include a T-shirt with the new Witcher 3 logo to the CE. I would really like to have one. :)

Never understood this. How would they get your size right? Not everyone is the same size. Would they have different editions? Oh, I want the XL size, it would be too much of a hassle.

It is 43,79 at GOG and only if you already have the other 2 games. I'm sure because that is what I already paid ;) Another matter is if they gave me 2 6$ games for free, although I had prefred a single one from the 10$ range....

No matter what, lucky ones who preordered the CE at 97£, amazon will keep that price for them :( :( Obviously I'm not one of those...
