Hello !

I have a problem on a fresh install of windows 8.1. When I launch the game I got a short black screen and nothing happen. My drivers are up to date. Same for Netework, DX and Visual C++. I tried to uninstall > Reinstall from redownloaded files. Same. Tried to run as administrator, same...

I'm on 2500k with Geforce 970 and 8go DDR3. Windows 8.1 64. The game is up to date.

Any help ?

Same error (basically ... EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (3221225477), Error reading location 0x0000000c)
 
Install odkurzacz and ccleaner programs and clean your computer. Now for me Witcher is working!! ;)
 
Anyone found a solution for this? My PC is below the minimum requirements. but at the very least it should run/start. I managed to play the Witcher 2 with low settings on playable FPS.

I hear people saying its because the graphic cards is too old/not supported. But people with recommended specs and people who already managed to play it before are having this same issue as well. I looked all over the internet and cant find a fix.
 
Maybe try to install it on another hard drive, or get it from another source like dvd or gog.com. Problems might come from corrupted downloads, bad hard drive sectors, DDRAM errors, or a lot of other things. For those using older computer hardware, I'd recommend big clean of components like cpu and gpu, new thermal paste and stuff like this. There are also softwares closing services as razer game booster and asus gpu tweak 2 which could help.
My game couldn't start after update 1.0.6, I did a clean uninstall, reboot and new setup and it worked perfectly with GOG galaxy software.
 
Ok, as of Patch 1.05 the game does give a message that my GPU does not support DX11 when i start it. at least now i know the problem, ill have to upgrade. im a student so a new PC is pricey right now so maybe ill switch to console instead.

Although its puzzling why people with recommended systems are having this issue with the same crash log.
