That's enough to me. Than you CDPR.“I think it’s in a way our trademark. People buy our games on day one because they trust us. And if we screw that up, it’s the end of the story pretty much.”
See the first two words of my post, not title.Chewin3 said:Nothing exactly new. CDPR discussed the same issue regarding TW2 on Xbox 360 and if it were to have and downloadable contents (as well as in future titles).
Yeah, but it's to be expected. I mean benevolence is one thing ( or treating the fans/customes with respect ), charity quite another.Demut said:Let’s make one distinction though: Yes, small update-ish “DLC” (such as barbers in TW2 or the Kinslayer armor) will be free on the PC. More expansion-sized “DLC” with quests and what not (formerly called “add-ons”) will cost money though.
It was, it's in Angry Joe's interview with Major Nelson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RtSGFryKwo). Although I'm not sure how much freedom developers and publishers will ultimately have. Business model of console gaming is different to what is on PCs. Console is a platform, but the platform is not just the box on which you play games, but extends all the way to how other entities do business around the console. This includes games; having a game published for a console platform means that the platform's owner will take cut from the game's sales, including additional content like DLCs. So I'm not quite sure how Microsoft (or, for that matter, Sony) will welcome the notion of free DLCs, of which they'd have no profit. Let's not forget that the DLCs would have to be processed by and downloaded through Microsoft- or Sony-owned infrastructure (Xbox Live or PSN), which entails quantifiable costs. Perhaps monthly fee for Xbox Live or PSN+ will suffice (like it's with 'free' games on XBLA, 'free' if you don't count the $5 you pay monthly anyway). Time will tell, but for now I see another PR trap CDPR can step into.Wazhai said:PS: In addition to that, both MS and Sony have said that they are willing to work with developers and publishers to provide them with a suitable platform for their games, which supports my theory. If I'm not mistaken, this was specifically mentioned by MS in regards to CDPR.
I get ya. They will, most likely, still get the wrong ideaDemut said:I’m not disagreeing with that. I’ll gladly pay for a good add-on. I simply wanted to point this out so that people here who might only have read the title don’t get the wrong idea.
Of course they will. Neither MS or Sony is down with giving stuff away.501105 said:Great news, will be interesting to see if MS will force them to price it.

Yes you are right on that. But just saying on latest past facts, the EE 'patch' for TW2 was 10+ gb with 4 hours of new story content, changes, extras among other things and was completely free. While the others charge just for skins, more skins, new skins and barely an hour or 2 worth of content. I would say when CDP says 'expansion' they would mean atleast a minimum of 10 hours or so, as they themselves define 'small' as 20 hours (which is a sad but true case in most other games calling themselves AAA titles) And since they haven't released any sort of expansion so far, and TW3 being open world and all adds to more possibility in the future. Just like Bethesda released Dragonborn with a new place, this possibility is also now up with TW3.Demut said:I’m not disagreeing with that. I’ll gladly pay for a good add-on. Meeee!!!~ I want to meet all those other witchers and I hope Berengar's there too, if he got save imported.Adityathewarriorwithin said:Who else is there who can't wait to go back to Kaer Morhen?/>
We do?SydneyCarton said:I am sure there will be a combination of free and paid content. At least we know the quality of the paid DLC we can expect from CDProjektRed.
I don't think he will be present as he was like meant to die in TW. I tried for hours to keep him alive but to no avail and later read that even if you manage to keep him alive he has no lines and just stands like a dummie in that house in the end where all the rest of your 'friends' are.RisingJTR said:Meeee!!!~ I want to meet all those other witchers and I hope Berengar's there too, if he got save imported.
And want to see how much has changed.
