Great news, will be interesting to see if MS will force them to price it.

That's enough to me. Than you CDPR.

Chances of you guys screwing up, are pretty low. And even then I am sure you will fix it pretty fast seeing how you guys are soo much dedicated to us, gamers.

My day one buy depends on the size. Anything above 20GB and I have to wait for physical form it will take ages for me to download the game.
Took me a week to download TW2.

Nothing exactly new. CDPR discussed the same issue regarding TW2 on Xbox 360 and if it were to have and downloadable contents (as well as in future titles).

The first person to say that honestly in the interview since the beginning of big-gaming corporations. I love to see that at least some people in this very sick videogame "industry" is still in possession of COMMON SENSE and are able THINK LOGICALLY.
I never doubted that CPDR guys posses these traits, but it's nice to see then glow in full light nonetheless.

While I know I am a selfish bastard, I am pretty much very happy that PC stays the Witcher main platform, despite releasing on every "new gen" console and that CDPR doesn't take the BS micro$hit is throwing at everyone.
But let's not go all "PC master race" here.

So on the matter on DLC, I understand that big expansions ( if they come out ) are to be payed for. No issue here.
I know You won't pull out stunts like EA with their DLCs.
Keep up the good fight CDPR!

Let’s make one distinction though: Yes, small update-ish “DLC” (such as barbers in TW2 or the Kinslayer armor) will be free on the PC. More expansion-sized “DLC” with quests and what not (formerly called “add-ons”) will cost money though.

Yeah, but it's to be expected. I mean benevolence is one thing ( or treating the fans/customes with respect ), charity quite another.

Monetising each and every little thing you release post-launch ( or even somewhat pre-launch) is not the way to treat fans. It's not fun, it's disrespectful ( YES, I AM LOOKING AT YOU EA!)
Monetising big expansions/add-ons that add all too many things to call it a DLC, is a fair business.

And having Enhanced Editions free... I am a happy camper.

I’m not disagreeing with that. I’ll gladly pay for a good add-on. I simply wanted to point this out so that people here who might only have read the title don’t get the wrong idea.

I definitely think that developers will be able to deliver additional content and fixes/updates without necessarily being forced to make customers pay for it. Both Sony and Microsoft have put a lot of emphasis on the online features of their consoles - namely, your game library always being up to date. This (at least to me) would imply that updates to games after release will be encouraged, rather than restricted (by a fee) as it is with current gen consoles. If my assumptions are correct, then updates to games on the next gen consoles should work similarly to how they work on Steam - unrestricted and free to deploy for the developers/publishers, although they will probably still have to go through QA by Sony/MS.

If this turns out to be the case (IMO, very likely), then CDPR should be able to provide as much additional free content to their games after release as they want in the form of updates. Everyone will get free patches for all games and whether you have to pay for additional content will most likely be up to the publishers and developers.

PS: In addition to that, both MS and Sony have said that they are willing to work with developers and publishers to provide them with a suitable platform for their games, which supports my theory. If I'm not mistaken, this was specifically mentioned by MS in regards to CDPR.

It was, it's in Angry Joe's interview with Major Nelson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RtSGFryKwo). Although I'm not sure how much freedom developers and publishers will ultimately have. Business model of console gaming is different to what is on PCs. Console is a platform, but the platform is not just the box on which you play games, but extends all the way to how other entities do business around the console. This includes games; having a game published for a console platform means that the platform's owner will take cut from the game's sales, including additional content like DLCs. So I'm not quite sure how Microsoft (or, for that matter, Sony) will welcome the notion of free DLCs, of which they'd have no profit. Let's not forget that the DLCs would have to be processed by and downloaded through Microsoft- or Sony-owned infrastructure (Xbox Live or PSN), which entails quantifiable costs. Perhaps monthly fee for Xbox Live or PSN+ will suffice (like it's with 'free' games on XBLA, 'free' if you don't count the $5 you pay monthly anyway). Time will tell, but for now I see another PR trap CDPR can step into.

I am sure there will be a combination of free and paid content. At least we know the quality of the paid DLC we can expect from CDProjektRed.

Of course they will. Neither MS or Sony is down with giving stuff away.

Yes you are right on that. But just saying on latest past facts, the EE 'patch' for TW2 was 10+ gb with 4 hours of new story content, changes, extras among other things and was completely free. While the others charge just for skins, more skins, new skins and barely an hour or 2 worth of content. I would say when CDP says 'expansion' they would mean atleast a minimum of 10 hours or so, as they themselves define 'small' as 20 hours (which is a sad but true case in most other games calling themselves AAA titles) And since they haven't released any sort of expansion so far, and TW3 being open world and all adds to more possibility in the future. Just like Bethesda released Dragonborn with a new place, this possibility is also now up with TW3.

Who else is there who can't wait to go back to Kaer Morhen? :D

I don't think he will be present as he was like meant to die in TW. I tried for hours to keep him alive but to no avail and later read that even if you manage to keep him alive he has no lines and just stands like a dummie in that house in the end where all the rest of your 'friends' are.
