The Witcher 3 gwent question.

I have played through the entirety of the Witcher 3 already but never bothered with the gwent part.

Why, because I utterly fail to understand how it works - what the hell are you meant to do?
 
There is a tutorial when you play it for the first time, unless you skip it, at least if you play the scholar in White Orchard.
Pretty sure it will also be listed in the Journal under Tutorial.

Or just look up a video guide on YouTube.

Basic idea is to play cards so that you win two rounds, and winning = having more points on the board.

O.K that's all good but it doesn't explain what counters what or how to counter a particular card just that you have to win two rounds - surely if that is all you have to do without any real understanding of how it makes the entire inclusion of this mini game pointless?
