The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project by Halk Hogan PL

Halk one question, vegetation.. looks more brownish in your pics. Did you change the colours too or is it just because they are in HD now?
It is known that as a new texture, color will be a little different. In general, the texture is a little darker, but is different specular maps, which for vegetation still I don't fully understand. It is possible that I a little change this colors. :)

I'm afraid Parallax is not supported by RED Engine 3 (I have not seen it in The Witcher 3).
That's a real shame. The game would look so much better (and less flat) with some good displacement mapping.

Thats a shame. Oh well, your work is still miles better than vanilla, Halk.

You know because i'm planning to combine this mod with STLM 2.0.. I like them more green in this mod. Hope it won't affect it so much

I'm not an expert. This is just my pure observation from gamer (not moder) perspective. I could be wrong.

But surfaces in Witcher 3 are so flat:

And we have things like this:

^^^Yes, this was Uber.

Example of good displacement maps (and vegetation) was Dragon Age: Inquisition:

But I'm hoping to see some more improvement than rocks from HalkHoganPL.

Of course, you'll see much more but first I have to finish all the rocks and it's going to take some time. The rocks are important because we most commonly see them. I'm right? :D

You should also remember that I work alone, and it is hard in my free time to do all this. :)
Cheers

I think that you should take all the time that you need. It already is a huge step in the right direction with this mod.
Looking forward for updates on your mod and keep up the good work. Wish you well.

@HalkHoganPL

Will there still separate texture packs in the future too?
For example i only want to use the rocks is this possible?

As i already said this is my most important texture i wanna change in the game everything else seems either not necessary imo or not doable with this modding kit.
Foliage and vegetation to name ones i would really wanna like to change as well.

Hell yeah, I love the new rocks! I am wondering if some terrain textures could be improved or not. I know some mountains in the distance look pretty bad.

The Witcher 3 uses only about 2GB VRAM. So I think we have some free space to improve texture quality.
Nowadays most GPUs have 4GB of video memory.

Exactly my thinking. 4k textures for large objects would be nice. Just make it an optional file.

Yes but :
- it's not an open-world
- global rendering is as good as The Witcher 3
- places looks absolutely not "natural" compared to TW3

The Witcher 3 :

Dragon Age 3 :

Fanboy bonus :
"Try to stop that Dragon Age"

And HalkHoganPL, your mod is pretty awesome ;)

Snow Rocks

Here something hmm ... winter and Christmas... :)
...Yes, more rocks but.....with snow. :D

I don't know but probably not. Simply it would be too much work to do everything separately pack, cook, etc.

For large objects, I suggest adding a 4k option for those that can handle it.
Sorry but probably not. Unfortunately I don't have textures with a resolution of 4k.
But it seems to me that 2k should be enough. :)

Cheers

Yes I know.

The main difference in DA:I is lack of dynamic weather system and day/night cycle. Everything's "frozen" in one state.
But it is a real shame that AAA game (W3) from 2015 don't have displacement mapping (which we know in games from over decade - I believe parallax was introduced with DirectX 9.0c in 2004).

That's sad man. :/ I'd really like to use your rocks, boxes and crates, but not the vegetation because it's too brownish for me. :/
He has already said that he will work on them after he finish with the rocks and the colors are not final. So don't get too stressed. Everything will be fine.
