More importantly, isn't that a steel sword Geralt is using
? Or maybe Steel is good for giants? Hmmm...Looks like its time to visit the market district! The sword on his back looks a lot like Weeper.

Igni looks cool, but as a general "thing" ALL fire in the TW2 looked so cool, that strange fantastical red. We've not seen a "stream" of flame yet. I wonder if Geralt learned an awesome new ability
!

I'm excited to try out the improved and versatile igni! And all other signs.

Heliotrop + AoE igni blast and watching people roast slowly to death should be awesome.

I wonder how will the new "flamethrower" effect work.

I think they've mentioned that the Signs will have various forms right? And with every button press presents a single move, I'm thinking of a combat a la DmC without the acrobats and with a much slower pace.

Slower pace meaning "less button mashing FTW"?

But really? DmC comparison?

Also... Signs were always simple stuff: Regular version or "charged" version. Witchers are not mages if I have to remind You.

Also, these SCs are still made on "old" engine I believe. Don't You worry Your little heads about it... It may change. Or not, really, I have no issue with it ;)/>

The beautiful thing about this franchise is the fact that, unlike my other favorite franchises, whatever CDPR changes just feels great.
Like, I get really upset about the Nanosuit changes in Crysis 2 and 3, or Max Payne's shootouts, etc.. But The Witcher is so enthralling and amazing that even if they turn Igni into drops of fire rain it will still be awesome and fitting, CDPR just KNOW how to evolve a game and make it feel even more awesome.

In other words, whatever they do with ANYTHING (except for lowering the difficulty/ambiguity and streamlining the characters and quest design), I'm OK with it. These guys can't do wrong, it's awesomeness always.

We don't want it to look like generic fire that's for sure. I'd take burning hot needle things any day.

I prefer the "flamethrower" style. And I'm also intrigued by the fact that this time around when using the Igni sign it leaves marks on the ground. I can see a lot of artists playing around with the sign.

Figured as much, she didnt quote the video I thought she was on topic. But I also belive that the video is Igni because:

1. the xbox demo of the witcher: rise of the white wolf the igni looked just like that.
2. you can clearly see heat smokes coming out of the striga during and after the effect. as if its burning.

based on that evidence I believe its Igni.

What if . . . what if its actually a mix, and that you can mix signs in Withcer 3?

I like the flame thrower style too, but dont you think that the fire effect in witcher 2 was more awesome?

edit: by fire effect i mean the sprites, the deep orange color of the fire.

That's what I thought, too... but the effect the sign has on the striga does not seem like igni at all - it slows her down as if struggling against strong wind, like aard could possibly do.

It is Aard - the fight's described in the books.

The chain snapped. The silver links scattered like rain in all directions, ringing against the stone. The striga, blind with fury, tumbled to the attack, roaring. Geralt waited calmly and, with his raised right hand, traced the Sign of Aard in front of him.
The striga fell back as if hit by a mallet but kept her feet, extended her talons, bared her fangs. Her hair stood on end and fluttered as if she were walking against a fierce wind. With difficulty, one rasping step at a time, she slowly advanced. But she did advance.
Geralt grew uneasy. He did not expect such a simple Sign to paralyse the striga entirely but neither did he expect the beast to overcome it so easily. He could not hold the Sign for long, it was too exhausting, and the striga had no more than ten steps to go. He lowered the Sign suddenly, and sprung aside. The striga, taken by surprise, flew forward, lost her balance, fell, slid along the floor and tumbled down the stairs into the crypt's entrance, yawning in the floor.
Her infernal scream reverberated from below.

Read the scene in the book, watch the cutscene and read it once time again. Only then you'll can realize how CDPR love The Witcher.

I mean in do each thing one after the other. It is a prodigious exercise in immersion for who doubt of reading or not the books ;)/>
