Witcher 3 has really nailed side quests not being boring, this time i really feel like a monster hunter, i just can't get enough of monster contracts, you even get to bargain the reward!

Yenn, Triss, Keira, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvQNZZCdjeI <======= that woman are pretty much the reason why Skirim's Lydia just can't cut it in comparison. Characters are sooooooo awesome. :(

The Witcher series has the best writing in the business (at least as far as AAA titles are concerned). Skyrim's writing is insultingly bad.

That said, they are very different games with different goals. It's too bad we only have one word for them and call them both "RPG"s.

World...except the windy weather, and possibly weather in general, I think Skyrim is better. The rivers...the huge cave...the sky...the scenery...Then again I can't run this on ultra settings and I just finished the prologue.

Better horse riding and combat.

House with no loading are better, but exploring? Hmmm...for starters there is no loading in the world in Skyrim, I'd rather have seemless world than seemless houses. Judging from the Prologue, Skyrim exploration is superior. You see a tower from a mountain and are like I'll go there and explore, and it's likely there's a quest line about it. Again judging from the prologue, Witcher are just big areas with points of interest.

Plus I just finished prologue and I hadn't had any fake sex, I'd expect at least 10 fake sexes by now. I am dissapoint.

Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt is better than other fantasy RPGs out there. Period.Witcher 3 vs Dragon Age Inquisition ? Witcher 3 wins a dominating win with no contest.Witcher 3 vs Skyrim ? Witcher 3 wins and will win dominantly once the REDKit for this game is out. Playing Witcher 3 is like having hot, steamy, saucy romantic sex with a woman for a few weeks and she spoils you so much to the point you do not bother looking at other girls anymore and pine for her forever, even after she is done with you.

LOL at some of humorous posts here :) the font size remark made me laugh, cuz im ffeling it too.

Skyrim does 100 things, each would score anywhere beteen 6 to 8 out of 10. This is why everyone is saying it was mediocre.
Tw3 does 30 things that would score 8 to 10. It does a lot less so it nails what it chose to do.

Mods could take each mediocre weak point with skyrim's feature list and improve it specifically. This is why mods made skyrim better in such a significant way. Without "deadly combat", "convinient horses" or a plathora of more weapons, armors stealth mods and many more i would have given skyrim 8/10 or a 9/10. Its just a ridiculously complex and ambitious game. It deserves it.

The witcher 3, more like AC:U , red dead redemtion or Batman:arkham, is less ambitious but does everything really good.
The difference between open world action games and RPGs is shrinking and i feel pretty comfortable to compare them.

DIsagree. Loving the game, but it's not better than skyrim.

1. lacks it's physics. That's amazing in skyrim. For combat, exploring, or just having fun around, the physics bring the game to another level. It lets you loot, push throw , anything that you see around. Buckets, candles, apples... anything.

2. The map feels more unique in Skyrim. Don't get me wrong, loving the witcher 3 map, but when you are in a place in skyrim, it feels more unique. You can decide where to go and understand where you are just by the landscape, without looking at the map. In witcher 3, every town feels a bit the same, every road between towns, and every forest... they are amazing, but I don't feel different beeing here or there.

3. Combat.... I don't know. Each has it's pros and cons. Witcher has more combat moves, but it's also much mroe arcadish. You press the same button several times and the character does animations and different moves by itself. In skyrim you have less options of attacks, but you do everything, using the physics of the game.

4. Horse combat sucks in witcher 3. I still try sometimes but I end up dismounting and fighting mounted enemies on foot.

5. Characters on the other hand I do like more in witcher 3. I read the books, so even more because of that.

6. No dynamic enemy scaling I also like more in Witcher 3.

But like I said, the world, physics and less arcadish gameplay, still bring skyrim infront for my taste. Well, and that there are much more player options. You get some customiation in witcher, but in skyrim you can make much different chars.

Not gonna have people always agree with your opinions. Sharing this or that, It's nice, but eventually you just need to understand that either what is negative about your favourite game is really true, or It's not and people are butthurt.

It's been said countless times that TES series has poor combat and animations. Mods can help with that, but only so much a modder can truly do. Combat in TES is the definition of Casual, no matter the difficulty, it scales anyways. Mods can make combat more difficult, but you judge based off Vanilla, and Vanilla combat in Skyrim isn't good.

Horse combat in Witcher is some the best I've actually come across, once you get use to it you'll likely never want to dismount against Bandits.

TES only does one thing good, and one good thing only - Exploration. Drop you into a big game world and go have you. Wanna steal from every bloody home, throw an apple at someone, torch a house (Mod) and shoot arrows into an enemies eye and they literally walk it off in 5 seconds.

TES gives you freedom, loads of it, but what good is that when the world isn't that interesting? See a mountain, go climb it. See an entrance to a cave? Go explore. See a castle fort? Go inside, leads to a series of underground catacombs with treasure. These are things TES, Skyrim in general DO so well, but that's it.

Story is bland, the characters are uninteresting, the combat isn't any good, and Bethesda cannot do animation if it were to save their studio from bankruptcy.

I'm not bashing one the best Western RPG franchises, I'm clearly just stating my own opinion, and many would agree, many would not. Way of the world, and gravity can be a bitch.

Now that "Horse" in which Skyrim, apparently rode so very proudly since 2011 (Which in my opinion that horse kicked Skyrim off within seconds) Appears to belong to Witcher 3, and I gladly stand by that.. when the framerate issues get fixed.

In computing terms, you are discussing a cartwheel with a formula 1 wheel. Skyrim sucked for it's own problems. It doesn't need a daft comparison. As for no load times, have you actuyally played witcher 3? I thought the issue with NPC's loading in slowly was an assassins creed tihng.. nope, same with witcher 3. I can enter an area and there is noone. Then after walking around a minute or so, suddenly, it's populated. Terrible. There are numerous other things wrong with it but I won't list them all here. As far as comparisons go though, try picking things that are more similar in age, playstyle and such.

Skyrim is more a game that is about the open world. Story and characters isn't bad, it's good, but it's nothing special. The Witcher 3 has more focus on story, characters and other RPG elements like character progression with proper customization and atmosphere.

The way I see it, you can't really compare the two games, because the developer seems to have different purposes with their game.

If we compare it to vanilla Skyrim, Witcher 3 is miles better. But Skyrim's main strength is mods and amazing modding community. You can build sick game out of all the mods available with much higher replay value then W3. You see, Witcher 3 is story driven game and after you finished it 1 or 2 times there isnt much more to see. In Skyrim you can put in 1000 hours, play through dozens of times and every time experience will be different. Here is a russian guy playing publicly released 450+ mods pack called Skyrim: The Journey. Its amazing both in visuals and gameplay: http://www.twitch.tv/mr_p0ed/v/5050703

No. It has things that are better. but it's not better overall. Well, depending on subjective taste ofc. For example one argument that I'm seeing a lot is that witcher 3 has better combat. While in my opinion, it's too arcadish compared to skyrim combat which is more about physics and your own movements. Also I am not seeing anybody comment how you can play so many different chars in skyrim, but only 1 with some small changes in witcher. For me that is very important. I started lots of different chars in skyrim. While in whicher, you could start a second game to see some different decissions, but creating lots of games for the new chars makes no sense.

For someone who seems to know the Witcher and the world, the story and Geralt, you compare the fact that TES allows you to choose from many races and completely customize, when you know, in fact the games are BASED OFF the books...

Very, very interesting.

Then again we've had comparisons that make no sense whatsoever.

Remember Two Worlds being compared to Oblivion? Yeah, that was idiotic and made no sense.

I have never seen those comparations... but I played both games and I think they are much more similar than skyrim and witcher 3.

Good one, here is another;
The sad feeling when you must exit the game (cause- tired, hungry and must go to sleep to go to work early in the morning)
i.e. back to real life, and for that feel- this game is awesome.

TES and TW gameplay is very similar. You move and attack yoursef. You shoot/cast where you aim.
Witcher3 isn't that way, it's more arcadish, it has a touch of batman or assasins creed. You target an enemy, click the button, and your char does awesome acrobatics while hiting the enemies.

So yeah, sorry for seeing more similarities between the other games. At least I can present arguments instead of just calling you a troll as my only argument.

Well, i like them Both!

I played Skyrim for over 300 Hours on my 360 and had Fun! Without Mods!

I like RPG's with big Worlds where i can get lost for Hours without continuing on the Main Quest and exploring little or bigger Things. The Witcher 3 is the First game after the Bethesda games that gives me that Feeling to!

Literally, if it was a contest between that it would be in the most literal sense because Witcher 3 has horseback combat and Skyrim does not haha!

Well actually, it does!

Edit: Ok i know where you went with that, Skyrim has no foes fighting you from the back of an Horse!

Good job comparing TW3 with a 4 year old game. Seriously.

If you really want to compare it with something, compare it with something more recent like Dragon Age.
