How about if the toolkit is as good as or even better than Skyrim's toolkit ? is that possible ?

Someone said modders were about to make something big using Skyrim toolkit for GoT or LoTR, I forgot, but some big company prevented them from doing that (cmiiw).

If the toolkit is good as or better than Creation Kit, it's possible. But will take time and will need a lot of cooperation.

Releasing mod tools does not equate to more mods though, let's not forget TES has a gigantic community and plenty of modders that are well versed in Gamebryo and/or Papyrus scripting. I can't say about how the TES mod tools are but I was really impressed by REDkit and how much access it offered.

---------- Updated at 03:54 PM ----------

Just ran the UE4 Open World Demo in 2560x1440 on a single 980 (UE4 doesn't have SLI as of yet)

Full Album: http://imgur.com/a/Ijuz2

The entire world has dynamic global illumination and ray traced shadows, and you can manipulate the lighting in real time with two keys.

Some examples:

Surprising not that many people know of this.

In order to get the demo you need to download Unreal Engine 4 from the official website, it has a marketplace in the launcher program, in it there's a learning tab, the demo will be present there this week.

About remaking TW1 and TW2 into TW3 engine. Assuming that TW3 tools are at least as good as TW3. Remaking TW2 should be quite managable if Redkit2 will accept most of asset or level files from TW2 without throwing hundreds of errors. Remaking TW1 would be a lot of work even if somebody would write scripts for quest and dialogue conversion. I would say that team of dozen and at least year of work. This won't be full time paid job after all.

well ! it's official ! FO 4 will come out this year on the 10th of november. all the more reason to have the modding tools (REDkit 2) released as early as possible.
however, the silence from the devs about it worries me.
we saw what happened with the downgrade contraversy. i shudder at what would happen with the REDkit 2 since they've been this way since the release of TW3.

Have you considered that perhaps FO 4 will not include mod tools?

i know, but i wouldn't be surprised if they released the modding tools with the game. why ? to make the game sell even more, overshadowing TW3 competely.
mark my words.

Even the Xbox version of FO 4 will have PC mod tools working on it.

Actually, not exactly, true. PS4 and XBone will allow mods to downloaded and used, they will still need to be created on a pc.

well, it's been officially a month since TW3 came out, and still no news on the modding tools.
i even tried to ask Mr. Monnier again, and promised him to give him a cookie, but still nothing :(

we're almost in July, and still no news on the REDkit 2. especially that the modding scene for TW3 (stuck at 193 mods on nexus) is starting to die, if not already dead.
what's the hold up guys ? any progress ? @Benzenzimmern @Marcin Momot

hi guys -sorry for jumping in with my question but I am hoping to get some feedback here since I failed at the Nexus chat.

Do you think it is possible to make the dialog options all in one color?

RedKit for Witcher 2 came out TWO YEARS after the game. So I wouldn't count on a fast release this time. Just saying...

There's no modding scene as such. Only very minor stuff. 90% of which Reshade presets.
Not saying there are no exceptions, though.

As long as the game remains popular through the months, there's no risk of "modding scene dying", or at least not directly related to Redkit.

The game itself does not offer, nor needs the level of modding (esp. low level) Skyrim got, particularly in the first few CK-less months. Textures, minor npc alterations, equipment, and such are not as important for TW3.

Moreover, whether Redkit comes out today or in 6 months' time, the modding community for the Witcher series is basically starting from scratch regardless. There's no legion of modders just itching to get working on the game.

So in essence, it would be nice to have it sooner rather than later, but let's not get our hopes sky-high with no. of Witcher 3 mods going through the roof and matching in scale or depth Skyrim's, or anything..

Mods will have to be screened and approved by Bethesda before being usable on consoles.

The "hold up" is that there's basically a lot of work to do ;) I can't tell any specifics, but you might get some news very soon!
