Seriously thanks for humering us and giving us a thread to discuss graphics.

Moderators never seek to silence criticism, we all realise that would be unfair and that it actually does more harm than good. And while we do realise that people need a place to vent their frustration, they in turn have to realise that there are so many threads on these boards before, huge ones, 300-400 pages long, that newer ones are just redundant. It might not be apparent to a new user, but they're there. All of them turned sour at one point, simply because some cannot keep a thread on track, repeat their points over and over or are just plain out insulting to other people. These things don't fly here.

We're already a fairly small moderating team and sometimes it is hard to keep up with all the posts.

Well, PCGamer obviously got the wrong informations there, if they wrote that today.

I have heard, that the patch was promised to reach outlets on Friday, but that didn't work out. Instead they got the patch today.

Again. It's not about how the game looks! It's about the fact that there's an obvious downgrade from what we in the SoD trailers. Now that wouldn't be too bad. People saw a lot of footage from the game that looked worse than the SoD trailers, so we went here and to other places and asked CDPR if the game has been downgraded from the SoD graphics.
Had they just said Yes and explained their reasons everything would have been fine. Yet they didn't do that. They said that there was no downgrade, that the game just isn't final yet and that the game will look just as good as the SoD trailer when it comes out. Which was obviously not completely true.
That is why people are upset. They are upset about CDPR and their handling of the situation not about the actual graphics of the game. Well at least that's the reason i am upset i don't know about anyone else.

Yeah I agree with this gentleman. We want honest answers. Not about sharping filters and youtube compression. About texture color correction. AO, lighting, tessellation. About beautiful color palette that was in 2014 screens and vids.

If the game will suffer on release day like frame rate with bugs, and beat the game with those issues, the patches would be useless to waiting, coz first gameplay is importand with a smooth gameplay. I hate waiting multiple patches in months that will fix something after beating the game. In the end this issues didnt fixed like DA:I (cutscene stutter). Now the game is in my shelves. Please CDPR fix the issues 100% on day 1 patch....

Saying the PS4 looks exactly like the PC version is entirely misleading considering I'll be playing the game at a higher resolution, double the framerate, and all the inevitable tweaks Nvidia and users will share with the community at large.

I wish we could "downgrade" the cynicism, entitlement (yeah I said it) and whining that has been plaguing gaming the past few years.

Not going to link it, just look over the last few pages for the confirmation that you're looking for. Its not "out" but it has supposedly been delivered to reviewers for the purpose of reviewing the product. And yes, they have the blessing of CDPR to do so.

OK. I understnd your feels. And i am so sorry. But actually Jose explained everything. We do not need compare final game with SOD and early trailers. Visual artist Jose already confirmed that the game will not be as good as that trailers. Yes it was late. Toooooo late. Just few days ago. But now we know that there is no hidden uber super graphics setting anywhere. So i droped it. There was very bad PR. Which i did not expect from CDProject. Just deal with it. There is nothing we can do and DEVs can do after that.

So i do not see any reason for downgrade threat. Really. THX Jose for his honest. Here is article.

I don't know about other people but speaking for myself I don't mind waiting at all if I know I get a PC game that scales well for different configurations and really takes advantage of the power of high-end PCs. GTAV is how PC ports should be made.

GTA 5 looks pretty okay, but it has weaknesses as well, specially some textures on the clothing and so on.

The problem is painfully clear, Rockstar made lazy ports that obviously are outclassed by their PC counterpart, CDPR has done everything they can to get the most out of consoles and it shows. However since it doesn't look like garbage compared to PC, must be downgraded trash. The logic is flawless, if the game didn't look so good these discussions wouldn't happen. This really boils down to the fact that CDPR made a game that looks gorgeous on consoles, and that makes people insecure for some reason.
