After watching trailer - Kaer Morhen and Vizima confirmed.
So map will be look something like this:

I wonder - Kaer Morhen is isolate from the rest of the map. If this wasn't done only for purpose of trailer, there can be also another isolated locations. Also some cities that will be in Novigrad and No Man Lands zones may be not accesible for player (for example sieged by Nilfgard forces etc.) - to save CDPR energy, but on the other hand some places were done for Witcher 1 and 2 and can be easily (relatively) redone for TW3 also (for example Pontar Valley and Dol Blathana from The Witcher 2). Some places like Brokilon and Mahakam are very special - completly different from other human kingdoms, so CDPR may want to add them. But it is small chance...

That image matched the areas I expected, round about. Though I doubt all of that yellow region will be in.

Too many Necrophages. That means too many dead. That means Brokilon was actually invaded. I sincerely think that this did not and will not happen. But who knows?
Not necessarily. I think on the screen we see only the outskirts of Brokilon. And Brokilon is now sourronded by No Mans Land. There were some battles for sure. But I think the Nilfgaardians did withdraw as they realize the Dryads and even the trees will fight till the end to defend themselves. It would take too many casulties for the Nilfgaardians to conquer "only" a forest since the war is still going on.

It's an old screenshot but since people still talking about Brokilon and if it will be in the game I thought I add my 2 cents.

From what I understand, that will be on Skellige because the Leshen quest had "dead villagers tangled in roots" due to its ability to control the woods.

Not like this man, the leshen just had a dead body near a tree, the picture shown literally has a ton of dead bodies impaled by roots. Its actually almost irrefutable. Not to mention this forest looks more spread out than the dense area in the leshen clip. But honestly forest are vast so I could be wrong, but its something about this forest that looks unique in its own right.

What area is this? That looks like the castle where the witcher started in the witcher 1.

Yes - this is Kaer Morhen castle - the home of the witchers (The Witcher 1 start there in prologue)

Really? From what the journalists had written, there were many. And the point when Geralt sees the leshen, there are several surrounding the lair. I wouldn't rule it out.

But do they describe them as being impaled like that? Or were there just bodies laying around? Keep in mind I still think Brokilon is a curve ball to be fully included.

However its the perfect place to put an "Invisible Wall" as far as boundaries due to its nature and reputation. at this point Brokilon is up in the air. But it can be perfect for DLC and could compliment Cideris quite well. Maybe have the DLC plotline start in Cidaris and take you through Brokilon as it progresses. But of course thats just a personal idea and nothing more.

I dunno, to be honest (from what I remember, the trailer showed both). I'm not stating either way, really, but it seemed early on the screenshots mostly focused on Skellige areas (with the exception of January 2014 screenshots). Probably because NML / Novigrad regions were still in development (they are the biggest).

It could be Brokilon, though. I just don't think it's irrefutable is all :).

An impressive metric, and the landscapes seen in the videos to date have been stunning (I could lose myself in just being immersed in such a detail-oriented game world), but a big part of what makes such a large area fun to play is by the developers packing in things to do, see, explore and participate in. To me, little would be more boring than exploring large, wide open areas, with there being no discernible interaction for as far as you could see.

If these lands are as large as what has been speculated, I'm hoping the good folks at CDPR have us lined up with a good amount of non-repetitious "to do's". I can easily see this game taking 150+ hours, because I am going to take my time from the beginning. Hopefully there will be a certain amount of side quests you can do without even having to progress the main quest. That truly gives me a sense of freedom.

Agreed.

In such a game as TW3 I think there is absolutely NO way I would EVER use fast-traveling when I can instead take a 20 minute walk through those amazing landscapes. If every 3 - 5 minutes there is something happening (random events (like in the "killing monsters" trailer), side missions, or even just a monster territory or two, a wild animal, etc.) , then I am happy.

Vizima's Palace was shown during the trailer. On the Throne sat Emhyr, Emperor of Nilfgaard. I guess that's quite an indicator that Vizima will be in the game, But nothing is for sure I guess.

I am thinking maybe Vizima and especially Kaer Morhen will have som special fast travelling system in which you get to a certain point of the map and it asks you if you want to go there. Fitting Vizima in the in game map should be possible but Kaer Morhen? It would have to be a pretty big world for that to happen.

Since the game is explicitly advertised as 'multi-region open world' (as far as I remember) it seems pretty obvious to me that they won't be adding everything on the map inbetween Kaer Morhen and Novigrad. Personally I wouldn't expect more than Skellinge, Novigrad, a bit of No Man's Land around the city (not including major cities but only villages and the like) and Vizima and Kaer Morhen as two more, smaller regions.

Keep in mind it might just be a map of the entirety of the Northern Kingdoms, like they did with previous games. So it's not representative of the in-game map.

What? Thats silly. NML was said to be directly west of Vizima and east of Gors Velen. So that would be really crazy if they have the land right next to Vizima explorable and then turn around and make Vizima an isolated fast travel point. Especially when CDPR is pushing the idea where you can go where you can see, Im pretty sure at some point roaming around NML we will see Vizima in the distance. Or CDPR can go the really weird route and paint a picture as a background where Vizima should be like we were back in the 90's :p

As far as Kaer Morhen I would totally understand if thats a fast travel point. Once we travel there though, no telling how far the surrounding area will be.

I'm not sure I am liking the idea of fast traveling back and forth to Kaer Morhen. Feels really immersion-breaking to me I guess. Witchers simply spent the winter in Kaer Mohren, and did so only when they had no other place to be at. So, yeah..

Maybe Kaer Morhen will be first location in TW3 like TW1.
