Didn't they already confirm that it can though? A dev came on the forum even to state it.Performance.
When the game isn't able to run at 60 FPS on a GTX 980 something's gotta give.

Sadly this should be the rule, not the exception. What would (and shouldn't) impress me is if an exclusively console gamer had empathy for where PC gamers are coming from on this issue. I'd hold them up as an example. Surely I'm not mad to think that there's one, and maybe more than one exclusively console gamer out there who's a reasonable adult and can put themselves in the shoes of PC-gamers complaining rather than becoming reflexively irate and uttering "Who cares about graphics!? It still looks gorgeous!"But I can understand why people voice their frustration.
I remember them saying that the early demos they showed of the Witcher 3 was running at 30fps on a GTX 680.Performance.

So you can't tell the difference between an ingame cutscene trailer filled with post-processing effects and a gameplay trailer? It's Watch Dogs all over again
GG CDProjekt Red, you're now a Ubisoft-tier dev.
But you don't have to completely removed those features from the game. You can leave them in as toggable options.Performance.

Yes, but you see at what cost (the game looks very good instead of incredible).Didn't they already confirm that it can though? A dev came on the forum even to state it.
It's not like they removed the features, they toned them down to achieve visual quality, or they changed the objects in a landscape. But you don't have to completely removed those features from the game. You can leave them in as toggable options.
I really think this is the worst part of this whole debacle if everything turns out as expected. CDPR's reputation will be heavily damaged, at least among the very dedicated PC crowd, and may never fully recover. Many will simply never trust them again. Who in their right mind would believe one pixel of an "in game" CP2077 trailer after this? It's Watch Dogs all over again

They're both ingame. So you can't tell the difference between an ingame cutscene trailer filled with post-processing effects and a gameplay trailer?
Couldn't they have just lowered the density / texture resolution on consoles like Rockstar did with Grand Theft Auto 5? And volumetric / lighting effects are easily toggable. It's not like they removed the features, they toned them down to achieve visual quality, or they changed the objects in a landscape.
This is not a case of something that can be made toggable.
Why do you want to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt?I think if they had come out cleanly on why they had to do this instead of denying time and time again for over half a year only for the truth to come out a few weeks before release, and not from them stating it, is what their biggest fuck up was.
I called it months ago. I said ignoring the visual downgrade would blow up in CDPR's face but I was shouted down by people saying the game would deliver and it would die down.
Karma's a bitch.
I'm not gonna answer that question because it's a load of provocative bilge. Why do you want to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt?
I am not an expert but I would think that trying to do that while also making a playable version would be a considerable larger volume of work, and they had to delay the game twice.Couldn't they have just lowered the density / texture resolution on consoles like Rockstar did with Grand Theft Auto 5? CP2077 trailer is obviously a cinematic one. Look for example the VGX trailer of The Witcher 3. It says in the begining "IN GAME FOOTAGE".I really think this is the worst part of this whole debacle if everything turns out as expected.
