I'm pretty sure PC settings can be tweaked (.ini editing) to match pre-downgrade graphics if you got the GPU for it. I don't know why this is a big deal.

Ini files will do nothing to restore removed assets.

I think you are overreacting. It was demonstrated that past a certain level human eyes don't even notice any sensible difference in graphical quality. TW3 on PC will be better than in consoles so I don't understand what kind of downgrading you are talking about. You are already getting the thing at 1080p on 60fps....past that point you are really nitpicking. on little things you wouldn't even notice hadn't they told you. This is written from a former-PC gamer. This psychosis over graphics has to finish.

Demonstrated in the past? Where''s this demo then? I don't need someone else telling me what to think, I see the difference for myself.

Well still the point stands....if you bother dissect the game in search of problems and unpolished things you can basically criticize every game out there. You should really stop searching for the little problems and enjoy the game as it is. It's getting ridiculous....like OMG the fire is not as good as it was!!!

To be honest I would trade anyday some graphical effects for a stable game with consistent fps. Past some point the graphical quality debates are really nitpicking.

Are you guys - who talk about cancelling their preorders or ignoring this game altogether - playing these games just because they are PC-exclusive titles and/or for their graphics? I thought that The Witcher fans played these games mainly for the story of Geralt of Rivia.

When there are already screenshots of the Witcher 2 looking better than the Witcher 3, there's something to think about. But I'm not cancelling due to the game being bad, I'm cancelling due to it not being fully focused on PC first, and due to that, there are plenty of graphical compromises as they stated in that interviw I posted earlier.

Will I play the game and still enjoy it? probably, but will I buy it? no... money is my only possible statement and revolt agasnt their direction, much like I did with Bioware.

Then you should be fine with a console game. The previous witcher games were never like that, and The Witcher 2 was a graphical powerhouse, and praised by many over it, and it wans't stable in terms of fps at all. This one is clearly already not going to be the case, due to consoles.

So a not-so-open-world game looks better (not my opinion) in some places than an open-world game? What's the problem there??

Just look how gorgous this game looked, what we will get will be not even near the visual porn that CDPR showed us.

Its a totaly diffrent looking game now....
That pic is from one of the newest builds isn't it?

You might have none, I do, especially when the early showings clearly indicated that The Witcher 3 looked better in every single field being demonstrated in the early videos and screenshots.

I think he meant grass, because grass was static in E3 2013 and VGX trailers, it didnt react to NPCs and monsters movinf through it.

I don't think you ever properly see NPCs and monsters moving trough grass in the VGX trailer but you might be correct about the debut gameplay trailer.

It does react however in the 35 minute demo and there I also find the foliage to be better lit/shaded compared to what we have been seeing lately.

If you have this attitude you will soon end up playing rock/scissors/paper instead of games. Be more open minded.

There is a huge difference between these 2 pictures, and not little things one wouldn't notice.

god damnit, i wish cdpr would just make a public statement, tell a nice story how the differences happened and that'd be it. wether they lie or tell us the truth wouldn't matter just communicate they should ;P

In the article the CDPR developer admits there is no difference between PCs and consoles, that that would have taken many more months of development, so the game is pretty much the same, the draw distance is the same in consoles and PCs (ridiculous), the difference will pretty much be better fps and resolution and some AO and some Hair Fx... even the textures will be pretty much the same.
They won't even have ubbersampling because it's too demanding? so what? that never stopped it from being on The Witcher 2... they just don't want extra stuff that will show a much bigger difference between PC and console... parity talk crap. They say this on the interview...

Wait wait wait wait ...... sorry, I'm not a lover of graphic, but honestly it is true the CD Projekt really disappointed me.

1) As I said I'm not a fan of the graphics, game play even in 1998, because they are epic, but if they are identical versions because delaying three months?
Really why this delay? CD Projekt a negative vote.

2) Why do equal versions? I do not think its right, if a person has a PC of 5,000 € has the right to have a better version than Console, I'm sorry if this article is true, CD Projekt has disappointed me and you can not trust even more of them .

I accepted (always if it is true) if CD Projekt said immediately "You will all versions identical" then defended 100% CD Projekt, but honestly we teased with images "spectacular" and then the result is much worse, this is called teasing consumers.

And they also sent back two months to the end of the game that it was no use, good job, CD Projekt.

In the list of bad guys too.

These are also from 2013 trailer, why aren't downgrade people using them to compare? It is so stupid to think game development won't change in 2 years.

Foliage looks still better than in newest builds (apart from that sharpening effect).. and that character models are looking now better, that knows everyone.. character models aren't the thing why are people screaming about downgrade

I say this once again - this is just a game, not your first-born child or your life savings. If you're not satisfied, then don't buy it and get off these forums. Go play something else.

Do you guys seriously have nothing better to do than come on these forums and rant? Don't you guys have a day job/school/college?

Sigh...

I agree with you, My post does not refer to the graphics, I saw that I do not care, but I mean honesty of CD Projekt.

You can not say, for example, "We don't did a downgrade" and then there was actually, this is a mockery to consumers.

I my post is related to that, honesty first.
