The Witcher 3: What is a next-gen RPG? - by Eurogamer

The following piece is quite surprising for me:

4K is also something that's on the table for PC, but there are UI compatibility issues to take into account. "We're trying to organise it," Badowski said.

Really? I understand you don't want to piss off Sony and Microsoft whose hardware has difficulties running 1080p 30 frames per second, however let's face it - there is no way The Witcher 3 will miss 4K support.

Even today you can buy 4K monitor on Amazon for $494 (Seiki Digital SE39UY04 39-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz LED TV). Yes this is Black Friday, but the prices will be dropping and end of next year this will be a typical price of a nice 4K monitor. Yes you need to have a really good graphics card, but next year we will get a new generation of NVIDIA cards providing at least 6-7 teraflops and AMD will have their answer too. As comparison PS4 = 1.84 teraflops X-bone = 1.24 teraflops.

*the TV mentioned above supports 4K at 30Hz only, however end of next year we can expect 60Hz at 4K for that price, so mainstream 4K will take off in 2014

Well, I personally never found Witcher 2 UI that jarring using M/KB. Yes, it could have been done better but I never felt like it really got in the way. Maybe it's just because I kept my inventory well organized most of the time. Anyway, CDPR said they were aware of the UI problem and are addressing it in The Witcher 3.

My problems with Witcher 2 weren't related to organization, they were more like: "Why the fuck can I only see 7 items at at time? What's with all those tabs? Why didn't you give me a fucking grid?"
