Perhaps push the date back a few more weeks? Just so it is released after I've finished my exams for that semester.

Some people are quickly writing off CDPR because of what ? an instance of 'bad' clothes texture on an NPC in a trailer ?
As someone who has been waiting(and still is) EIGHT years for Square Enix to deliver Final Fantasy XV(announced in 2006), I am not at all phased by the few months of delay that CDP announced.

Its frankly boggles my mind why anyone would be upset. They NEED this time to get work done .Sure they miscalculated the release date by a few months off ,but that's no reason to express such ambivalence towards a group of talented and hard working individuals.

The Witcher 3 isn't cancelled. Its coming and its coming strong. It also happens to be made by human beings who are trying their best to deliver a work of art and entertainment of the highest quality.

There is no reason to be upset by this bump in the release date or to accuse CDPR of insincerity, other than an unreasonable sense of entitlement and ,frankly this is not directed to anyone in particular, childish impatience.

I support CDPR for taking on an attitude worthy of a true artist.

I'd also like a promise that, this time, there really will be no more delays...

A promise made by somebody who has already broken another one isn't worth much.

They really shouldn't promise anything anymore, at all. Being a bit more humble and modest should be their new attitude IMHO...

How they are not humble ? They are apologizing to everyone publicly(even though I don't think its necessary to apologize for that). What more should they do ?

Hello, dear CD Pro RED. First of all, let me apologize for my bad English. I am learning English, but so far I have not very good. I can speak and listen, but very bad writing. Sorry for that. I hope that you will understand what I mean.
Of course, this is sad news. We thought that the game will be released in February. But now we need to wait for her until May.
Nevertheless, I'm glad you made this decision. And I want to tell you thank you for it! Thank you so much!
I am sure that you would not tolerate release of the game without a good reason. Therefore, if you need time to finish the job before the end I am willing to give it to you. Thank you for what you do not Ubisoft.
As you probably know, the French company recently released game. And it was raw. It contained a lot of errors and omissions. It was a wide variety of disadvantages. They did not have time to finish the creation of the game at the time of release. And they decided to betray the trust of his players. They deceived them. Spit them into the soul. The French wanted only to make money.
You do not like it. And I say to you thank you! I really respect you. I respect you for many reasons. But now there are more. Firstly, you have acted bravely. You decided to take this step, knowing that many will be dissatisfied with this transfer release. You have done so knowing that many game publishers and the media will write about it. You did it knowing that your reputation may suffer from it.
But she did not suffer. Now we respect you even more. You could do the same as Ubisoft. But it did not! And I tell you thank you for it! You show respect for their players and fans. And we are grateful to you for it. I'm willing to wait as long as you like, as long as you have done everything correctly.
I believe that you will succeed. I'm waiting for the game The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. I place great hopes on it. And I believe that you will make the best RPGs of all time.
PS I know, many expressed their dissatisfaction with your decision. But they did it without thinking. They did it based on emotions. And I hope that when they calm down, understand one very important thing. CD PRO RED not deceive our trust. Vice Versa. They did everything right. And we, the gaming community, have to tell them thank you for it.

That is what they are saying buddy, what happen , happen that in those three days the "bad trailer" storm was too strong to ignore.

I think the game were going to have some issues at release, and now they want it CLEAN by fear of what would happen. The Reactions are being too strong against cdpr ..... exaggerated. The Delay is fine.

What i don't get is the time, three months seems a lot, but probably is the right time.

What could you possibly mean by "they"?

Nobody on this forum prompted the delay. Nobody's reaction to the trailer caused the delay. That is giving undeserved credit to a few loud voices.

These things are decided over a much longer period of time because that is how engineering is done, nothing less would be responsible, and nobody who is not an insider has anything true to say about their decision.

We will find out in a small number of hours what the investors, who are really the ones CDPR is responsible to, think of the delay. I don't think it will be pretty.

I'm still concerned.
I mean, rushing it out the door certainly isn't a good thing, but the fact that we're seeing multiple delays certainly isn't a good sign either as it suggests shoddy organization.
If it was a good thing, Duke Nukem Forever would've been the best game in existence.

The "open letter" is a farce. If it was truly open, they'd be more open about what problems they are facing.

What fucking for? Is there here really anyone so delusional who believes he/she is qualified to help out with AAA video game development problems??? And if not, what other possible reason would there be to unload all their problems to the community? As if we don't have enough to endlessly yap about already.

Let's just try not to become a part of a problem, as we can't be a part of the solution.

I'm gonna guess it's console that's delaying the launch. Everyone is having problems with getting decent graphics for next gens. And doing a complex open world RPG with high graphic fidelity is far from easy.

I think they were in discussion for sometime now before the holidays, contemplating whether to crunch through the holidays or get some rest before the final crunch time after the holidays.

For what purpose?
"Hello Witcher fans, we're having issues with D3DRENDERSTATE_FILLMODE and hence why we're delaying the game." is definitely not helping either party involved. Demanding confidential information of this nature from a company serves no purpose for a consumer.

What can you do when you know their exact problems? Nothing.

At a time where games like Assassin's creed unity are released the way they are. I fully and completely support this delay.

Now it doesn't matter whether you accept it or not but as the game get closer and closer to release date, the less better it looked(graphically). So if this delay means that the game might revert back to that amazing Sword of destiny trailer look then I'm all for it. Just look at the difference in grass. It went from like every blade of grass was handcrafted, to just put some greenish texture thing on there in the latest trailer.

The only people who deserve a full apology in my opinion are the guys who pre ordered the game.

I guess this means that production on Cyberpunk has stopped?

I get you guy. A few months ago I would be in the same state but dude I don't think you would like a Ubisoft experience. Unlike Ubisoft , CDPR actually care about their game, how it will be recieved and its quality instead of profit. So I think its something we should all appreciate. Like they said, this game is a much bigger deal to this guys than to us and I think everyone will win if the final product is everything they promised.

But fuck it just hit me that maybe they might end up cutting stuff out.

Thay should do like Valve:dont open their mouth until game was finished on 100 % and anounced release date and without delay. But Valve with their totally silences are really too annoying.Valve was transform to torturing machine.Totally silences it's not good idea.

You know i wish companies took that approach alot more often. Shut the fuck up until you know the game is 90% done and then release trailers and the release date for your games. Avoids disappointment, less likely for a downgrade, and people are generally more happy no?

Yes! This means well get a more polished game at release.

This is a good thing, i played witcher 2 at release soo many times that i couldn't even get myself (re-)playing the beautifull enhanced edition afterwards.
Take all the time you need .Thanks CDPR

Except there's an entire term coined by the fact that Valve delays games or unexpectedly releases things early, "Valve Time".

They delayed Half Life 2, and most recently their Steam Machines were delayed. I'm sure there's more examples, but using Valve as the shining example of a company that "doesn't open their mouth until stuff is 100% complete" is absolutely laughable.

I agree with the notion that Gaming companies in general should hold back their announcements. However sometimes there is unforeseen circumstances, and this just happens, it might have been completely unavoidable.
I definitely think they revealed The Witcher 3 too early, but situations change, development fluctuates and situations like this just happen. The game isn't going away anywhere, it isn't turning into Vaporware, it's just getting pushed back a little further to hopefully give it that required extra polish (On top of the initial delay for polish).

I've been hit pretty hard by this delay myself, it has completely screwed with my gaming plans for the year, but there's no need to be upset, the game isn't going to go away anywhere and it'll be ready to play when you do get around to playing it. As long as they use this additional, additional delay time wisely, then there's absolutely no harm in it, at least for us consumers (Shareholders might not be happy though).
