I don't like where this is heading. As a fair warning. Keep the discussion civil.

I edited it out. Thanks for the fair warning. It was prolly not the best wording and it was not meant as an insult when I wrote it.

I knew that CDPR would never disappoint and release an unfinished and buggy game.
Releasing broken games seems to have become a very common practice these days. Big developers release unfinished pieces of garbage full of ludicrous micro-transactions that need a whole bunch of patching just to run properly. These companies lack any consideration for their fans or good intentions towards their customers, and they see gamers as sacks of money.
Having said that CDPR has nothing to apologize for, because with the delay they have put their fans above all else. As a matter of fact we as fans should be thankful that we were treated with dignity and honesty, and we weren't presented with a broken game and promises of later patching. The Witcher 3 is a very ambitious game, and CDPR did shoot for the stars. It takes heart and courage to take such a big leap forward, and try to create a game that leaves the fans in awe. Even if the Witcher 3 does not meet some unrealistic expectations that some have, We know that CDPR gave it all they had.
We as fans and gamers are very thankful to you CDPR team, and you will always have our support.

Two delays though? At what point was the game stable enough where they initially thought they could launch in 2014, let alone February 2015?
That's not how game development works at all but delving into that would be a big offtopic post, so let's just leave it at - each iterative build isn't more stable it all depends on the state of the game - how feature complete it is, what can be improved/needs to be cut. Broadly pre-production, production, post-production. They are all done in stages. Build #300 can be more stable than build #301 or #401, it simply depends on what's being worked at currently and what issues the next feature implementation(or whatever) brings.

'Stable' is a very flaky term up until launch and these days even that is becoming questionable... but I digress.

Dear CDPR,

thank you for delaying the game once more! We all know that this title is very ambitious and is also anticipated by a lot of people including me.
Yes it hurts a little that Wild Hunt has been delayed once more but I think you know what you are doing.
I hope for you that this game is going to be the best RPG ever!! I really want it to be not only because we can play a great game then, also to show other companies how it has to be done, how to create a compelling experience and that you can have full success without DRM and stuff like that.

I am also going to buy a new rig according to the requirements the game has, i want to see the games full potential on my new PC^^
Graphics don't matter that much to me but it would be great if you could achieve quality of the 35min demo (or even beyond? =P), especially because of the new rig i'm going to get ;)
For no other game on earth i would buy a new pc, but for Geralt it's definetly worth it !
Most Games I have I play on my 7year old pc with 2,7GHz Dualcore and 2GB DDR2 RAM :D

So I wish you all the best, take your time and make the game shine on May 19th, I'm waiting for it.
Make it the best you can, care for it, that's most important ;-)

So keep the good work up!

I have. I restore old cars/build race cars/do custom fab work for very rich and powerful people. When we give a date we stick to it 95 percent of the time and If I and my fellow team mates do have to let a customer down We only do it once. We make sure we can hit the second date. I may not know much about what CDPR does but I know this is unprofessional behavior. To say otherwise is just being blind to the obvious lack of professionalism.

Those people leave their cars under your responsability. You own them something. You both (you and your costumer) have a contract.

CDPR has none of our property which may be appealed as evidence of breach of contract. Not until the product is technically and legally ours.

Here the only ones who could demand some response would be companies with which CDPR has a contract based on the game TW3.

No promise is 100% executable. The promises are overvalued and within that fiction even superhero breaks their promises. Or anyone with common sense can expect the fulfillment of a promise without being based on a complete and blind faith to whoever makes it.

A promise is a strong desire to be able to meet the wishes of a third party. Believing in 100% compliance is to believe in the impossible.

There are only two reasons for not fulfilling a promise: 1- the occurrence of unanticipated beyond our control elements 2- the will not fulfill even taking all means to do it. So then, until nobody prove me that CDPR has no will to fulfill their promises I will believe in the first reason

I read a good point in another thread. The book "The world of the witcher" has spoilers in it for TW3? Shouldn't that be delayed too? If it does have spoilers I think you guys should delay it. Amazon still lists the original February date for it. The strategy guide for The Witcher 3 too.

It will be postponed as well. It won't be released until the game comes out.

This is sad news ... many had hoped for February next year and in the end may not be. What's going on? These failures are they on all platforms or only on consoles or PC? . The delay of a year was too long and now another 3 months ... but you sure will be solved in three months or more will be another delay?

I know asking for what specifically caused the delay would take us down the tech rabbit hole that only about 3 people on the forum would even begin to understand. However what state would the game be in if you guys stuck to the February release window? Would it have been playable, but with reduced graphics, performance, etc. Would it have been missing actual chunks of content like what happened with Witcher 2.? Or would it have been just incomplete, and not workable at all? Basically what I am asking is what the current state of the game is in compared to your original vision for it.

The delay is good for me, because it gives me time to get a new graphics card, but it shows how much their PR talking is worth.

Thanks for the response! That's great then. Saw Kinley's and others posting about it in the Witcher 3 forum and wanted to say something.

Phew...this is great news in my book.I expected this sort of thing would happen since you guys are working with completly new platforms.Delay it as much as you need CDPR.All of us want the same thing and that is the best Witcher experience we can get.

...and on the plus side my wallet won't suffer as much when I have to make my new rig because of the price drops.

It's a little disappointing but ultimately there'll be a better game at the end. I did think the previous release dates were odd. The previous two games were released around mid May. Now the new release date falls in line with the others. I wonder also if the push back in release is so Nvidia can stabilise their forthcoming GTX 960 product series and drivers so as to coincide with this AAA title release?

Surely, the delay made us all sad, but you have my full support and applaud for this delay because it will be for the greater good of the final product.
In the end we all want the final chapter of Gerald to the best that you can deliver, so hang in there and keep up the good work.

This announcment is a kind of bittersweet for me. In one hand I will have more time to save up for the Collector's Edition and not just that, but is also makes me certain that I will able to buy it which is good, very good. (Just readed the news that shop where I used to be pre-ordered and buyed games charged with VAT fraud. Well shit.) In the other hand the game was soo close to release, I have dreamed that I playing the game multiple times and now I feeling that this game is only a dream, which is allways slipping away your hand when you are almost able to touch it...
So CDPR, go and amaze us in may! :)

It's been stated a few times before that the entire game can be played from start to finish. However it is kind of like a ripple in the water. You add in a new feature and it could break half the things on the map and introduce 100's of new bugs etc..

I've played a fair few games with create your own house or what ever. And have put my self in a postion that screws me over a few times or it wrecks every thing. Now imagine that but involving code.
