You are imagining things. The game was delayed from Autumn 2014 to spring 2015. To speak of three years is jut you hallucinating.

I often romanticize of telling CDProjektRed I have a terminal disease and that I've only ever wanted to play The Witcher 3. After all I do love a good fairy tale.

But I don't ever lie to my friends. I'll just wait the four months, two weeks a day and fifteen hours.

Hahahaha no.

The game was announced in February 2013, the accompanying image was of Geralt with facial hair which looked fucking amazing and it was said that it would be released sometime in 2014, that has been delayed twice in 2014 and now it's May 19th 2015.

OP, you got it all wrong, there has never been a delay, its all in your head!

Fall 2014 marks the period the game went from Alpha to Beta
Feb 2015 is the period polishing commences
May 19 has always been the release date

Either way, what can you do!

May 19! It's 19! Why, why would you add those extra days? Why? Why would you do that, NotUS?

Are you the Antichrist, NotUS? Are you?

Why do I feel like the original date published was never really the completion date anyway. Perhaps the move to open the game for pre-purchase on Steam was simply an attempt to receive funding as the project was running out of money. It was likely always a May release. Meh, I wouldn't be so bent out of shape but I just finished Dragon Age Inquisition and need a fix, decided to check Steam and found out I have to wait until May. Bioware will likely have released a DLC by then :(

One thing you never, ever do as a public company is publish a bogus release date. When it comes out that you did, you will get your shorts sued off by stockholders, and maybe some of your officers and directors will be barred from the securities industry.

So, HELL NO. The release dates previously published were those that the development team believed they could meet, until that belief was superseded by inconvenient facts. Claims that there was a shortage of funds are transparently false, as CDPR's finances are public record, and no such shortage can be identified from their statements.

I hear ya, just kinda blows that I have now paid so far in advance for nothing. So my 60 bucks that could have been getting me interest in my bank since August 23rd (when I purchased it) now has a depreciated value because I have to wait longer :)

Yeah, that is a bummer. But the stockholders who bought CD Projekt stock at the top, expecting mad profits before the end of 2014, have taken their lumps, too. And the absence of complaints from them is some reason to believe there is not any funny business afoot.
