The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt gets a FREE next-gen update on December 14th!

I have the Steam version of the game, will this be a forced update?
I have a crapload of mods on my current build, and since this update will most likely destroy everything I'm really looking forward to have a forced update, mostly because some mods I'm using won't likely be updated for the next gen version

Question: I start the game and progress it when hopefully the next gen update happens in ten days that I will have upgraded my character, looting, skills, etc. will they be reset and I will have to start from the beginning?

Probably no reset
(except if they reworked skill points like CP77 or something like that, but honestly, very unlikely)

If you let the auto-update on Steam, it will be updated (like always).
But if you disable auto-update and don't update the game yourself, you should be able to play on the "old" version of the game with all of your mods without any issue.

The computer I have doesn't have many possibilities for playing graphics at high levels, the graphics card is of the previous generation (GTX 1050ti), even with this sign with the next gen update even at moderate settings?

In addition to the next-gen release, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will also receive an update featuring numerous additions and improvements, as well as the Netflix Witcher-themed DLCs. Further details, including the release date, will be announced soon.

I'd just like to know if I'll be able to opt out of netflix DLCs. Thanks!

If I understood correctly, outfits (alternative looks) can be enabled/disabled from the settings like other alternative look DLCs (Ciri/Triss/Yennefer). If there are quests or other in-game thing, just ignore them

Personally I always liked the originals the best (They seem more cannon) and I doubt any of the new stuff added will change that. However having a choice is always a good thing and if someone else likes the alternatives it doesn't harm me one bit. I'll probably do the new quest and get the new armor but I likely won't use them unless Geralt's new Witcher armor has some better or at least different and interesting new stats

However having a choice is always a good thing and if someone else likes the alternatives it doesn't harm me one bit. I'll probably do the new quest and get the new armor but I likely won't use them unless Geralt's new Witcher armor has some better or at least different and interesting new stats

Yep, alternative looks from the serie will be optional, I have no doubt about that

About alternative looks, honestly, I like Ciri alternative look (I generally activate it). Just my opinion, but the one which have less sense it's the Triss one. I mean yes, the dress is damn gorgeous with incredibly plunging neckline and which is very long (drags on the ground), but... in Novigrad, it make no sense. This dress is everything but discreet and for walking in the muddy streets, not great...

Just a guess, but more likely during the day CET (I could even say, likely afternoon)

Me too, I never changed their outfits. Yen's and Ciri's are particularly amazing and Triss in a dress seems sacrilege

Just my opinion, but the one which have less sense it's the Triss one. I mean yes, the dress is damn gorgeous with incredibly plunging neckline and which is very long (drags on the ground), but... in Novigrad, it make no sense. This dress is everything but discreet and for walking in the muddy streets, not great...

Doesn't make sense at all specially from a story point of view, the thief-like hooded outfit suits a mage on the run hiding in a hateful city, but not a dress that screams sorceress

Well it didn't help any that there are 8 or more prerendered cutscenes that always have the originals so if you are wearing the alternatives it switches back and forth between them. It also messes up any hair mods you use. Last playthrough I found a mod that fixed several of them so having them render in realtime isn't that hard to do. I'm hoping that is one of the things they corrected in the update and I have high hopes because one of the scenes in the Trailer shows Ciri wearing an alternative outfit when the current version of the game always switched back to the original.
