As you and other wise individuals say it, if there is something you're good at, that you're a specialist in, stick too it and make it better. And man, many of the decisions in the Witcher make Ornstein and Smough fight look like a square dance.

TW2 showed combat was certainly not the most important aspect of the game in both titles, as the players were given an option of easy, medium and hard. In contrast, the games challenge and combat is an enormous part of Dark Souls. Two similar goals, to different ways of achieving them. Newton and Leibniz anyone (well not quite an apt comparison but... />) Though I see both as playing a CRUCIAL role as the next step in the Genre. These are indeed the Lewis and Clark of this my generation. I guess Planescape and Ultima were Erik the Red, and MaGellan />

I don't see why the series shouldn't attempt to continuously improve upon every single aspect of the game no matter how minor or secondary. If there's a chance to improve combat mechanics, why not grab it?

I like The Witcher and all but I thought Minecraft did a much better job at world interaction. Also the loot system was not nearly as well done as Diablo III's system. BF3 Also handled graphics and combat much better.

All in all there are much better games out there than The Witcher. TW is a boring time waster at best for those that don't know or care to play a good game.

..... Just kidding

I can't wait for TW3, waiting till 2014 is gonna be a killer, lol. Personally I think it's awesome they are making it open world. I just hope they can tie in the rich story with that mechanic as well. If they can pull that off TW3 will easily be the game I have been waiting to play for over the last decade.

Neither do I. I don't think anyone thinks that way. Of course they're improving the entire game. Sticking to what you do best doesn't mean neglecting other aspects of the game. It means not pulling a Darksiders and creating a crude collage.

I agree.
No one here seems to be requesting that.

It seems like someone didn't get the joke... but this is an example of what people have been doing here. Comparing arbitrary games they like.

I agree though, TW2 didn't quite have enough blocks, or random monsters dropping mountains of epic ancient swords and armor. But the point is that is completely irrelevant for this game.

Also I can't believe Tetris has been around since 1984 and still CDPR failed to include bricks falling from the sky. They sure have a lot to learn!

And just in case, that was also sarcasm :)
