The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - PC System Requirements are here!

+
Been playing on a GTX 960 on high with hairworks off at 60fps 1080p. Can bump it up to ultra w/o hairworks but then it begins to dip. I'm using an old i5 760 btw so it seems the cpu requirements were overblown.

I'm getting wierd thing with my game thing is when I turn on V-Sync and I go to town I get 100% core usage on i5-4690k then it goes back to 70-80%
When I turn off v-sync and I go to town my core usage is normal which is 70-80 but I got screen tearing lol.
I don't want my CPU to run at 100% usage, i feel like its a bad thing lol

The game looks beautiful however if I have one quibble it would be the color saturation is really high so that it feels less realistic and more like walking around in a pretty painting. That's on one level very pretty but not as realistic as I was expecting.

My exact thoughts. I've seen people complain that the Gamma settings slider is bugged. But I flatout don't have one at all in my menu. Had to adjust gamma on my monitor to make it more grounded and real-looking. The colors by default are definitely too vivid.

Kazstan187,
didn't get there yet but when I ALT-TABed to Chrome my CPU usage in the Task Manager was about 25-30%, while memory usage was at about 60% (5 GB out of 8GB and my Win7 64 Bit uses about 2,5 when idle with no games running).

P.S. Has the meditation screen been changed from the 2013 E3 version? It was supposed to show Geralt sitting and weather+time of the day changing around him, stars passing in the sky, something like that - I haven't seen that myself but heard from a reviewer of the CDPR 2013 E3 presentation. In the game (I'm only lvl 2) it's just a black screen with time passing in a little circle.

Here's what I'm talking about when it comes to meditation - http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/08/23/eyes-on-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/

Particularly this segment:
Earlier we’d seen Geralt meditate, and watched as the sky rolled around, and the weather transformed in accelerated time. It’s hardly a surprise when big budget games look incredible, these days, but moments like that nevertheless grasped me by the eyeballs.

You need to have the game running in Fullscreen for the Gamma slider to appear and take effect.

The realtime effect was removed and now it's just a black window, I'm afraid.

Thanks for helping with the Gamma thingie. But the fact that the real-time meditation was left on the cutting room floor is a real bummer.

Downloaded the game from GOG but I wonder if you should install the first two DLCs separately (the Beard & Hairstyle Set and Temerian armour set) or were they installed automatically with the latest patch (1.02) and are already in the game? They say these DLCs became available when the game went live on May 19th but I don't see a specific download on gog.com in my profile.

I think they will be released separately. Shoud have been today, maybe will be tomorrow.

Thanks, it's just that there are several articles where they say they are already available, maybe it's true for the consoles though.

By the way has anybody overclocked their GTX970s? I'm thinking of using stock Asus software GPU Tweak to increase GPU clock to GTX980's base specs. Has anybody done that?

I downloaded TW3 tonight and it won't run smoothly, though a lot of guys here said, that I can expect at least low settings.

GeForce GT 770M
8GB RAM
Intel Quad Core i7-4700HQ 2.4GH

Does someone has any advice how I can play the game? I'm dying here.

I hit the "low" button twice. Once in the graphics setup and once where you can find Anti-Leasing etc. I left everything like it was automatically set up by the "low" button. I thougt those are the lowest settings one can make.

Can't remember offhand if hitting low will turn some features off, but try turning off the Hairworks altogether, along with antialiasing, maybe vertical synchronization too. Also if you haven't installed the latest nVidia drivers (v. 352 something) - do install them.

In case I have to buy another graphic card: which graphic card can my processor support at max?

Isn't that a laptop you got there? Is it even upgradable?
That aside, TW3 is 99% GPU-limited, so you can throw basically the most powerful GPU in there and still be fine with your processor.

Yes it's a laptop and the graphic card is upgradeable. So if I get a GTX 970M I can get the highest possible graphics?

Nah, not really. A GTX970M is on a similar level as a Desktop GTX 960, so for a good performance you need at least to turn off Hairworks, and possibly set a few more things from highest to high.

Upgrading a gpu to a laptop? Never heard of such a thing. The only choice I've heard about is a usb adapter that gives one extra displayport and of cource a docking station. Those really don't help here.
