Can i assume that my PC (i7 4770 12gb RAM GTX 780 ti(OC)) handle with that game on high settings with good fps?

If the last rumors are true, maybe even at maximum settings..

thank you MkTama, I'll update my PC at the end for this year cause I'm saving money now ^^, so I just have to play witcher 3 on low setting now and then wait :)

Hi. I am looking to upgrade my system for TW3. However I am unsure how to proceed and what the best option is.

I currently have a i5-3570k, 8 GB ram and a AMD 7870 GFX and I am thinking about two options:

1. Upgrade the MB, a new CPU (i5-4690K) and then a GTX 970 and keep the ram
2. Only upgrade the GTX but instead of a GTX 970 go all the way to a GTX 980.

I want to play the game on ULTRA, so what do you guys suggest?

I would say invest in the graphics card first. Ivy Bridge to Haswell is just an incremental CPU upgrade, but it will cost as much as a GTX 970.

If your motherboard's a Z77 already and you have lots of juice on your power supply, an alternative would be to get one GTX 970 now, and if it isn't enough after the game comes out, get a second one for SLI.

Difference between i5 3570k and i5 4690k about 5-10fps. You need just overlock your current CPU and buy GTX 980.

gtx 9xx performance

From last preview "fluid gameplay on 1080p with everything on maximum +nvidia hairworks on GTX 980 -> looks insanely good for an open world game"
Just wondering how many fps if someone has any info.
I have gtx 970 so would imagine will be gtx 980 - 10fps?

Ultra, 1080p, GTX 980 = 60 fps
GTX 970 should get 45-50 fps on the same settings, but if you OC this card it can match GTX 980 stock.

Don't forget it was most likely vsynched so it'll stay on 60 even if the card could do say... 80(example).

Yeah I have OC version so if its more than 50 I'm happy with that.
In regards to vsync, I red somewhere that it will lock up at 60fps however fps is more likely to deep lower than without?

If all so good how u said, I can expect on ultra settings with 50 fps too with my MSI GTX 780 ti (OC).

Of course ... 780 ti is on par with the 970 ... 970 and 780 ti should get around 45-55 maxed out... Except aa on maybe 2x ... Also ive seen nvidia soft shadow take a heavy hit on performance ... Otherwise it should be good

I upgraded everything in my system a few months ago, everything except my quad i5 25k processor overclocked at 4.6 mhz that has been working perfectly fine for almost 5 years. My system also includes a 750 watt psu, 8GBs of ram, and a MSI R9 290X Lightning GPU(Not overclocked). Now I know that my processor is old but according to many it is still a bangin processor for gaming, especially considering that I cannot afford a processor over $500 along with a new 2011 socket motherboard(my current motherboard is a MSI LGA 1155 Z77A-G45) I can run Witcher 2 on ultra settings and I hope that I can run Witcher 3 with a mixture of high and ultra with this setup but I am worried about a possible bottleneck, so does anyone see a possible bottleneck with this setup?[h=1][/h]

You're safe. I think the difference would be few fps at best, so upgrading CPU just for the sake of this game would be great expense for little to no benefit. Further evaluations will be done on how much the game can benefit from hyperthreading (i7 etc) but even here I don't expect anything major to justify the upgrade in your case. We'll see

No your processor is not old, i5 2500k is still very competent for any single graphic card you throw at it.

Do you think the game will be very cpu-intensive?
Gamestar used a i7-4790 and even recommended CPU is far better than my recently bought i5-4590.
I assume that with my GTX 970 I can run the game at 30/40fps ultra but I fear that my cpu will bottleneck it :/ I don't know if a i7-4790 (or equivalent) really worth it.

We just don't know. If an AMD CPU makes the recommended level, though, I'd be surprised to learn that the game depended on how fast the CPU can crunch numbers. More likely it will depend on how fast the CPU can sling resources to the GPU, and in that respect everything from 4-core Sandy Bridge and 8-core Bulldozer on up are not far apart enough to make a difference.

SSD needed?

Hello,I would like to know, since the game is freaking huge,if the streaming system could work better with an ssd rather than a classical hard drive...
I guess the whole game isn't load entirely into memory (or we will certainly need at least 32 gb ram :D ) ,so could a hard drive bottleneck the rendering speed of the game?
