The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - PC System Requirements are here!

Really depends on how the settings scale, high is what ? for 660, 770 ? And ultra is for what ? 980 only ?

W2 had gtx 260, and keep in mind that Witcher 2 still has hiccups while played on a gtx 680 for example, 680 is a much powerful card than gtx 260.

Witcher 3 needs gtx 770, as recommended, so in real life scenario will need a whole allot bigger than 770 to play this game at decent setting while keeping decent fps.

@edilsonj I agree, yes we have some really bad experiences with other games. (with and without Nvidia tech) But I expect the 3 months extra(extra, since second delay) time is what CDPR will need to optimize it. And since there haven't been any hands-on, preview or other walkthroughs with known hardware I think it's a bit to early to say the game isn't optimize for certain users.

Ofcourse I might be the case but until we actually have some proof and have the game on our hard drive it's to early to tell.

I think you're OK on the CPU; it's still faster than the minimum Phenom II x4. But the minimum and recommended GPUs worry me a bit. They're all recent 24-ROP and 32-ROP models, and while the 560 is a 32-ROP model, it's also a Fermi, and the Kepler and Maxwell shaders are much superior.

I think you've got a good sub-minimum system, and you should be able to find settings at which the game will play competently.

Thanks guy, your advices are always helpful. Still i need to consider upgrading my stuff for gaming in general. Also i already had some parts failing it's high time for me to start saving money.

reading the specs I got disappointed, because it seems the game is very heavy... its not like dragon age 3.

It seems I cannot play when it comes to CPU, right now I have an I7 870 3ghz (4/8 threads) and my gpu is gtx780... But again its very heavy when the recommended specs are that high!

Also it will make moders not be interested that much. (I have that feeling, normally they avoid heavy games, that not many people have and play).

In the other hands, i am in the process of getting new cpu mobo and ram, but that will take me some months, because if I buy a pc now, is going to be with ddr4. And most definitely, not going to be, because of witcher. Time will tell...

It reminds me Ubisoft path, with extreme demands for AC4 and at the end, they refunded many people.

If the recommended is a gtx770, my gtx780 will give me about 20-35fps in high settings, I assume... thats bad. The recommended specs to be the top of AMD? is extreme... That means this game needs sli or crossfire
Dragon age 3 gives with ultra seetings 44fps average (34-70)

What's so secret about the specs? :D

Maybe it's emberassing to list? Or too much work. Either way I only have 4gb of memory. I bought a memory upgrade but my mobo doesn't want it. My processor is the worst of the computer while the gpu is the 'best' part. I can't upgrade because I will need a whole new computer instead and that's very expensive.

To those who can't afford to play the game with their current hardware: you have my sympathy. I've been in the situation where you can't play a game you really wanted to because it's an unplayable mess due to your rig specs, so I hope that between now and May, you'll be able to at least get it to run smoothly on minimum settings.

Thankfully, as far as I'm concerned I invested on an upgrade just a few months ago and the requirements seem pretty fair, so hopefully I can get close to maxing it out.

Yeah... keep dreaming.

I have I5 4690, 760 OCd and 8GB RAM. I think if I turn off some useless effects and keep AA on minimum I should be able to run it on 1080p, high/ultra with atleast 30-40 FPS.

I am running an older processor, the Intel i7 950, will I have any problems with this processor with TW3? I have never really seen any game push my CPU, I'm not sure if I have to worry about upgrading it for TW3.

If you expected a game with this level of graphical detail and actor movement to be anything but "heavy", your expectations may have been excessive.

For the CPU, if a Phenom II x4 can run it, any Intel from a Core 2 Quad on up will be OK.

Making unfounded assumptions about frame rate and then spreading FUD about it is not welcome here, not at all.

I know what you mean...I'm saving about 50€ by month (sadly not every month nor the same amount. even less) since summer 2013. A true insanity from a mature, responsible, logical persone like me. But, dammit! I want to play this game! (do I look like a teenager fan girl?)

If you look like one because of that, then count me in as a teenager fan girl too. We're on the same boat, and never give up with your savings, no matter how low you managed to save last month for the rig, every euro matters, and we will fight to the last computer component! Best of luck!

I can't wait for guys with really powerful machines to start posting screens with downsampled ultra settings, expecting some nice wallpapers.

<< It'll definitely be like Shadow of Mordor again. My PC could run it flawlessly, but my laptop is going to explode the moment I start it up. :c So only a home game. -sniffle-

@Marcin Momot

If I may ask. What about resolutions and aspect ratios? The Witcher 2 was infamous for having a lackluster support for aspect ratios beyond 16:9. Is The Witcher 3 going to support new aspect ratios like the cinematic 21:9 and resolutions like 4K? I'm especially interested in the former. :)

CDPR's Team and their games make my inner gamer-girl keep alive. That's feeling cannot be paid at all ;) And I always thank them, despite my thanks may seem a little thing from the distance among thousands of Witcher fans.

I've got 560 Ti, no chance it will run?

Think you'll be OK with anything from a 560 on up. Though you won't get full performance or all the eye candy. I'd worry about performance being too far below minimum on anything in the nVidia x50's or AMD x7xx's.
