I wonder what kind Game of Thrones easter eggs moments are we going to see in the game. Are we going to meet some NPCs on the road that resemble Arya and Hound, Tyrion or meet John Snow up north.

Absolutely, their tale would have to be quite dark, but not so 'serious' as to deal with wild hunt, or world politics and occasional humor wouldn't hurt anyone. It would be a chance to make a game that is in majority focused on being a witcher, hunting monsters. With a friend.

Ah. Then yes, I'm more open to that idea. A nice lore-building side game would be great, since the Witcher world is the most interesting I've seen. It's managed to be fresh and unique in a heavily over-used genre. Any new backstory would be awesome. Still undecided on co-op though.

My answer in co-op it's: definitely not, it'll unbalance the game, the achievement and conquest feeling of leveling up and getting stronger, so you can finally kill that X monster will disappear. Like person A and B

A-Help me, i'm just level 10, kill X with me
B-Ok, then you help me to kill X too
A-k
*
A-thanks, now I'll help you
B-Thanks, i'm only level 11

without co-op
A-I NEED TO KILL THE X, I"LL LEVEL UP UNTIL LVL 35, BECOME STRONGER AND KILL HIM!!!!

What is mean with that dialogue, it's that the "monsters don't get stronger" thing would be useless, and also people will become lazier and won't suffer to surpass strong monsters. Also will be hard to make an explanation to do this (i'm talking about an in-game plot excuse), also your friend will be used as an backpack extension, weight limit will become useless

Balanced and effective XP, attribute and skillsystems would be nice. Something that does not (at least not well) support the grind open world games are prone to offer.

Or you can have such legendary monsters that 2 high level witcher work their ass of to bring it down together. And all monster hunting could be so that it takes big amount of strategy, not grinding. Imagine kayran fight but without scripted scenes, qte, and so on...

That is the point of 2 player coop expansion, you don't go in alone:) For singleplayer you would have W3

So they'd market it as exclusive co-op?

I'm not saying it isn't a good idea - it is, but that's a tough sell for people, especially if it's online co-op. Then you're asking for two copies of a game to be sold for someone to even be able to experience the game. (they could do couch co-op but I've heard now that rendering games twice on one screen for two players is graphically straining.)

Excuse me, could you tell me if it has been confirmed the possibility of being able to climb rock walls, climb trees and down, for example by means of a rope in a pit / underground tunnels?

It's been confirmed that you can "jump", and I think that's that, nothing else.

Climbing and jumping over obstacles is in too. We just don't know to what extent.

I would love if at some points might be given to this possibility.
Descend into a well by a rope to find the lair of a creature, climb a mountain stretch during a blizzard .....

Or climb a tree to make an assault from a monster .. some of you would not like that??

P.S. see also the introduction of the first Witcher, Geralt where he climbed over the roofs

Exactly.

We have heard hints once or twice in interviews that "if Geralt/the player sees a cave up there on the mountain, he can climb up to it". If that means that those specific points are reachable or if that means we can climb on a lot of places in general we do not know.

I for example would really prefer the latter, because it would make for an awesome and immersive experience IMO and bring variety to the traveling. You know, one time you decide to go by horse and ride a while, then you discover a cave or a PoI up in the mountains and you decide to get down from Roach and climb up there.

I wouldn't know about rendering two games on one tv, but yes, basically, coop only game. I'm not for AI controlled other witcher when there is no friend around, rather, you can play solo, explore, investigate, buy, create gear, steal around and do some 'main' quests, but you can't take down bigger monsters. Yes, some people without friends would be kinda left out, but since it is expansion pack, there are couple of advantages though, Game can be cheaper and you can add more areas as you wish, without worrying how to weave that territory with quests for main game, you just market it as new 'hunting' grounds

So having co-op exclusive content in the game, you mean?

That would be fun - I have a mild fetish for unlocking stuff in video games. It would look a bit like a marketing ploy, though. To sell a "crippled" version of the game that needs an additional $40-60 and a friend to unlock the full thing. Unless it would be sold as "co-op DLC" as an add-on to W3, which would make more sense.

Also, by climbing, we don't actually know what they mean. You can 'climb' a flight of stairs, and you can 'climb' a mountain face. They could just be referring to ascension via pathways, unless I'm mistaken?

You can also climb* flying in a balloon.
...which would make the dreaded crossbow pretty useful for the enemies in TW3.

*(the terminology for increasing the distance from the ground in height)

Indeed. You can also climb using a catapult, or even a rocket if you really wanted, but I think it's best to stick to likely scenarios :p.

Unless there are hot air balloons? :O

The monster-slayer apparently hit the gym after The Witcher 2 wrapped up, as he now adds climbing and jumping to his movement abilities.

Doubt they would talk about it like this if it was just "ascension via pathways".
