The Witcher 3 Wishlist

+
I know there are better odds of me growing wings, finding a herd of flying pigs up in the clouds, and cooking them for bacon with ice from those clouds, while at the same time humming all the national anthems and then firing laser eyes at Godzilla then there is of this happening, but this is a wishlist, so I'd like to see mods on consoles somehow sometime in the future. i expect the small free content is the closest we will ever get and that's appreciated, but I'd just like to be able to mod the stuffing out of this game.

I really hope they give us an option to lock the rotating minimap..it was the most annoying thing in the Witcher 2 for me.

If not..mods will fix it I guess...

First meeting of Geralt and Dandelion in W3:

There is this tavern packed with humans and nonhumans. You see Dandelion standing in the corner with his lute so you come closer, shake his hand and start conversation. After a while you hear growing noise in the background. People in tavern are banging their mugs on the tables and yelling.
Dandelion interrupts conversation saying 'Sorry mate, the public demands' and starts singing awsome ballad. During the choruses, the whole tavern - humans, dwarves and elves join the song :)

Not so dramatic like in W2 but still cool, am I right?

If it could be done, I'd do it for you, and for me. But locked hardware and api calls and 1st/3rd party software publishing rules/regulations pretty much prevent that.

That being said, some hope may be in your future. SteamOS is pretty close to release, and TW3 is one of the premier titles supporting SteamOS, and in a greater extent Nvidia and/or Steam streaming.

This means that the ability to play a modded PC version of TW3 with a controller from the comfort of your couch is a possible thing in the near future. It's not exactly 'console modding', but you can see if from here. (deus ex music plays in the background)

Witcher 3 one important game mechanic

More often then not i buy a game and it does not come with New Game +. sure you play through the game as "OP" but before I could do that i would have to play a 200+ hour game, probably not that long if i wanted to speed run it. But i would like to Play through it again and maybe even play the game differently then before. Sadly i dont want this game to be like The witcher 2, I beat it and havent picked it up since. This game is probably not going to come with this great game mechanic but hell it is 200 hours long, i cant be anymore excited. What are your views on this?

What game mechanic are you hoping to see in The Witcher 3?

I think that a New Game + in an RPG is something completely inadequate.
Because you have already the maximus skills, probably the best armor. and without level scaling, it is impossible to rebalance the challange.

So tell me, after you beat the game on the hardest difficulty, get the best armor, max out your skills, maybe even beat the game a couple of times to get multiple endings, what are you suppose to do with the game now that there is nothing left to do, say you beat the expansions as well.

I am hoping that I can fill out all the skill trees in a single playthrough. I want to experience the full depth of the combat system, and I don't want to play the game again.

I like doing that but, i like starting a new game + with all those skills i took my time in obtaining, that way i can start a new game and not worry about grinding to level and make sure im a high enough level to continue.

Actually, I'm not the best example. :asd: I often replay a lot of games, even RPGs, doing the same exactly choices I made in the first run.
The Witcher 2 is the exception.

I'm actually replaying The Witcher 1 for the fourth time, I've collected 143 hours so far.

What I say, is that a NG+ can work in an Action/Adventure, but it could turn out not so good in an RPG.
You have to find out the motivations for another replay on your own.

I couldn't POSSIBLY disagree with this post any more. I believe that a New game + in an RPG is absolutely adequate and one that doesn't take much effort by part of the creators to implement. Finish game? baam save equiment and items, start new game. Its not something that is forced on you, and people that appreciate new game + such as myself and others can enjoy it. I personally LOVE new game plus in RPGs because I love starting a new game and just wrecking shop, like I'm supposed to, being that I'm the hero.

They could ALSO implement new game + in the fashion that Dragon's Dogma did... not only did you get to keep your gear and items you've spent hundreds of countless hours gathering, monsters and story monsters were twice as hard and the gear you obtained was better if not way more enhanced than before. If they were creative, they could also add locked high level dungeons or events that were only accessible via new game +... no its not locked content from the game, its extra gameplay added on to an already finished main story, or game.

The way it stands you finish the game, then what? You're done? you could restart to pursue another ending and that's fine, I just don't see why they couldn't add a NG+ for the MANY that enjoy playing their game the way they want to play it- even if it isn't balanced.

The beautiful thing about this is, its not forced on you, and its not like the devs require months to add gameplay just for your standard run of the mill NG+

Understandable.

Could not say it in a better way then that. And dragons dogma was a great game in itself, I played and beat that game 8 more times. literally.

Haha, I absolutely LOVE it when you play NG+ and you know you're a badass... and npc's still try to talk smack to you and then you're forced to lay the law down. If the RPG was a good quality RPG, the NPCs could see/sense that you're a badass and react accordingly- like avoiding conflict with you... (personally I'd still cut them down at the knees for getting in the way, but that's just me :D) and even that, would add a different experience to the whole game itself.

It doesn't have to be Dragon's Dogma, or Skyrim, or Chrono Trigger... more options for the fans is never a bad idea... limiting options is not nice ;;

(btw I'd personally like to be able to interact with the environment, sit in chairs, sleep in bed, sit in the open fields and just enjoy the view .. yes I made a thread about this somewhere... "but, ITS NOT SKYRIM!!!111". ... It doesn't have to be... again, more options is NEVER a bad idea, especially options that aren't forced upon you but others may enjoy.)

It is locked content and this is the worst thing that developers can do to their game. Since the devs said you can still roam around the world after the ending (IIRC), they could just add the high level dungeons at the end. That would be acceptable, instead of just locking it behind NG+.

I don't care if the game has NG+ or not, but there should not be any new significant content like extra dungeons etc.

Fair enough. As long as there could be NG+ that is all I'd like to see.

No arguements here. I mean geralt is a bad ass and a simple warg should not be much of a challenge to him so having a new game plus would insure that, and a drowner shouldnt take you out easily either like they did in a video from IGN. lolz

Careful with that...

Lets just say after beating a game and being able to to free roam world afterwards just annoys me in video games, I want to see a story cut scene with that awesome armor i unlocked before endgame!

This is a good argumentation, but I see some flaws.
1) Dragon's Dogma is not an Role Playing Game. It is a JRPG. I know it seems odd to read, but it's not the same thing. The core in an RPG is about quest design, C&C system and dialogues tree (even if that RPG is combat oriented, like Icewind Dale). A JRPG has nothing similar to that. In that kind of game it's all about character build, enemy encounter and combat. And this is directly linked to the second point:
2) In Dragons's Dogma you can unlock some extra contents because it is based on enemy encounter. But how can you unlock extra contents in an RPG which is based on quest design and has no level scaling? What would be the level of the new secret boss? How can a dev rebalance the enemies if there is no scaling at all?
3) If you can't rebalance all enemy encounters, then you are OP for the most part of the second run.
4) I know, this last one is my fault, but I really have some issues on understand how being a powerplayer can help you to do a second playthrough. No, you are not done when you finish the game. You simply can replay it another time. A NG+ doesn't always unlock new contents. I don't remember any of that in Arkham games, for example.
