Hey guys, I was just thinking of how awesome the next game in the franchise could be. I'm sure if a wishlist is made early, the developers could possibly take notice and incorporate some of the community desires into their next game (we all know it will be made eventually!)

I would personally want to see:
-A multiplayer duel mode where players can 1v1/2v2/3v3/4v4 each other. (although with signs, this would probably be hard to incorporate. Perhaps players would all be generic soldiers that do not have signs.)

-Combat in which nontargeted enemies can still take physical sword damage.

-The ability to kick enemies that get to close, this will move them a small distance and deal low damage.

-A well-developed sneak system.

-More mini-games!

-The ability to purchase property.

-Fast-Travel

-Bigger enemies and more epic bossfights

These are just some quick things I thought of that I would want to see, what about you guys?

Well, I haven't played any of the past games. But I have watched it being played a lot.

What I find most Odd:

1. TW2. Geralt has the ability to lay traps on the ground. Duh. A ) He lays them instantly, which is nonsensical B )/> Even if Geralt lays the trap in front of his enemies, their AI is dumb enough - I mean Forest Gump dumb - to step on it! It's ridiculous. This problem can be addressed by either: A ) Letting Geralt lay magical traps only he can spot or B )/> letting him set physical traps like the ones he currently sets up but allowing for enemy AI to get a chance at spotting/avoiding and disarming them.

Personally, I am actually quite disturbed by the talk about the open world bigger than Skyrim which is supposed to appear in TW3... TW2 was such a superb game because the story and the screenplay was written so well. The strict linearity of TW2 made sure that the story kept flowing nicely, without stumbling into random obstacles.

If the TW3 truly became more like a sandbox, then I am really worried as to whether the crew can keep the priorities in the right order - namely having a strong emphasis in the story, characters etc, and a lesser focus in wandering about the world and exploring. To be blunt, I think it's pretty pointless to create any kind of a sandbox - the Elder Scrolls series has been offering the players their sandbox-RPGs for a little eternity, and I don't see why CD Projekt Red should even try to compete in that department. Anyone can create a sandbox, but not everyone has the backstory of the Witcher franchise and the talents to weave a plot as intriguing as the one in TW2.

So my humble wish for the crew: Please. Please. Focus on the plot, keep the storytelling fluent. Focus on the characters. Because that is where the true potential of the Witcher games lie.

yeah I know I was just telling you about it haha. It seems like you want to replace textbooks with that idea. In TW2 you didn't have to read textbooks but you'd need to kill a lot of that particular monster to learn about it.

Are you saying you do the cutscene and learn everything all at once? or just some? or do you do it a bunch of times?

to keep it simpler for the devs just the first time or maybe for each variation of a monster species like drowners- drowned dead or endrada- endrada warriors because it would get anoying to see it every time u want to gather monster components from a group of only 1 tipe. and i have nothing aganst having to kill x more to learn everything or insert the clip once u gain a level and say the new info you picked up. i had in mind that gerald would narate the disection of set monster and say i could use brain for rebish and for the components you require a certain level of knowlege saysomething like this has a use but i dont remember how to extract it or whatever.
But basicaly it would be a posibility to replace the books, and a cool feature to get to know the witchers experience and training in monsters.

A real poker and a real black jack game. Dice poker is limited.

Flashbacks of some key events from the books.

I agree... sandbox games are anemic of story. The only fun is to bond to your character and watching it goes stronger for wielding that super powerful sword found into a cereal box.

I hate Elder Scroll. I hope the team will not fall into that bring back these 10 apples at the other side of the map.

Freedom is not always a good thing, you lost focus on your goals. What I loved about The Witcher 2 was the fact that side quests never took precedence on the story. The story was there and you were accomplishing the side quests at the same time. If this change, it is going to be a huge step back.

Definitely loosen up the dice poker game. When you can't put at least the price of a good whore on the dice, it takes away some of the incentive to bother playing. Dice poker is a legitimate game and probably easier to teach to the AI than any game of card poker. But do make it for stakes that make it worth playing.

We already get one huge flashback from the books. But with more characters from Geralt's past coming in, we should get more of these flashbacks, I agree. I'd also like them to keep Jakub Rebelka as the artist for the flashbacks; his way with the things nightmares are made of is very suitable to my eyes.

Geralt is a swordsmen, not an archer, arbalest, or halberdier. While it is very nice to see others carry such weapons Geralt does not need them to be the ultimate human weapon. Also don't forget Geralt is an itinerant monster hunter who does not make a great deal of money. Chain mail and plate armour is very expensive to acquire and maintain, certainly beyond his means.

You also should mention that Witchers are made to be fast! And it's impossible with plate armor... Please Davidmill23, read the books, witchers aren't made to fight with bows...!

Geralt considers bows to be unhonorable and a hassle to use

Geralt doesn't wear plate armor because it restricts his movement when fighting ultra fast monsters

So he's a swordsman that uses leather + chain armor, it's canon :3

More mini games

Money shouldn't be a big problem. Experience/leveling up needs should be a 30-45 minute sub quest errand.

Weight limit issue - please don't make me use mods, this should be an option!

We appreciate minor action oriented sequences like the kraken boss fight, but no to RE6 everything is an action sequence game, alright?

Arena - with coop.

Key bindings if possible

Better handling of save games, better save game/load game UI. Save file size matters.

Double/triple the amount of armor sets in game. Looking at wikis, there seems to be a lot of armor, but in game, only 4-5 sets are there every chapter. I hope for more variety since I always grind for money and strive to collect all armors in game.

Same goes for blades.

Inventory UI. This is a tough one to crack, so I hope every now and then a screenshot should be publish to the forums so we can give it some of our thoughts. You need not take all of our opinions but hey, you'll get an idea of whats going to work or not.

Reading books shouldn't be boring. See what ME3 did with their reading materials? There's a voice over. Wouldn't it be nice to have Geralt do that meditate thing, except he'll sit, browse through his list of books, and have Geralt read them to you while you pass time in a jungle recovering your health. If they talk about a certain war or history, it would be nice if they be accompanied by some dynamic movie or artwork.

There should be an indication of the blade oil in effect to the monsters I hit.A slight glimmer would be appreciated to know what meteorite is socketed to my blades.

Since hes a witcher, a bulk of his side quest should be epic monster fights. Keep the political/personal story for the campaigns.

It would be great to have some kick ass difficult monsters to beat but not just because they have a lot of health or they hit hard. But by adding them passive abilities.. some monsters just can't be affected by players example:Aard or Yard, some particular monster could ignore your shield/armor effects or any other defensive buff you might be using.. which would make player think twice before charging like a blind bull.

In TW2 we got used to using same tactics on every enemy we encounter, imagine 3-4 different enemies surrounding you and each and every one has different passive abilities and fighting styles.. one can act like a tank and rush you hard! other just runs away from you and attack from distance ..smart enemies.

About different kinds of weapons and armor intended for Geralt, I agree with the objections above. Witcher's armor should be light and flexible, so they could be agile. Sword is very versatile weapon, useful in any situation. There was only one witcher that used a bow, and it was in one of the episodes of TV serie inspired by witcher world. I don't know about jumping. I think that Geralt's movement was fine in TW2, there is no need for jumping, if you can use rolling or any similar move to evade and to get out of the reach of your enemy and you also have the option to climb to elevated places. As for new signs, in the books there were only six signs, because witchers use only elementary magic - five of them are in the original game, the sixth was imbeded by players' mod.

Firstly, I apologise if this is not the right place regarding this topic - I did a quick search on the threads and didn't seem like there were any threads on this.

It is perhaps 2 years too early and I know some people will definitely disagree with me on this wish, but... not sure if anyone has mentioned about endings yet.

Like the witcher 2, I really hope 3 will allow us complete freedom to get whatever ending we want, i.e. none of that forced heroic sacrifice like M@ss Effect 3... Which actually resulted in me not buying the game in the end :(

Yes throw in a sacrfice ending, BUT I hope CDProjekt are listening: for 1 ending I really like my Geralt to grow old with Trish or Yennifer... (although in the books he did have a 'heroic death')...

I mostly agree with Te'oma, but jumping should be added to the game since it's an open world game. It's needed to overcome bigger obstacles which are usually frequent in open world. I just can't imagine a successful open world game without a jumping option.
And for the fast travel... Personally I wouldn't use it, because I love exploring world by myself and traveling on foot (or on a mount, which will be in game and will speed up your journeys). Fast travel option takes away the feel of the world's size, and of course the chance to start a random adventure or meet some kind of wandering NPC which could be very interesting to talk to or even get some benefit from it.

The GI article confirms that there will be jumping to encourage exploring, avoiding the scripted sequences in W2.

A Hydra would be a nice example. If not using a silver sword or magic when cutting its head, two more ones appear. Would gradually becoming more and more challenging.
