I've got just 1 wish: don't make it sexist. Please Devs.... I've enough of games blinking to only male customers.

I understand this a sensitive topic so I'll address it carefully.
Your character is Geralt, a mid-aged male adventurer. So the portrayed sexual escapades are totally in-character.. I just don't see how the devs could supress this natural and relevant section of a man's existence just to appease the god of Political Correctness, so to speak, without watering down, diluting and eventually killing off much of the depth the story has to offer. I just don't.

Could you please explain what you'd leave out, what you'd insert and why?

Personally I hope the don't tone it down one bit.

And then, in the next Witcher game the protagonist is Ciri, so the ladies can have their fun too ;)/>

Agent Blue, I clicked on the icon that says "vote this post up," and it voted you down. Sorry! +1 for you.
-----------------
Anyway, my only complaint about Witcher 2 was the fact that it didn't feel like it shared the same universe of Witcher 1. The atmosphere was brighter and more "realized," in a way that felt like a 19th century setting, in the sense that the characters just felt too educated, aware and intelligent. One of the amazing aspects of the first Witcher was the fact that it was MEDIEVAL! There was a historically accurate sense of ignorance, darkness and anarchy.
So the fact that you're going open world (which is closer to W1 than 2), and that your focus shifted from the vivid political shenanigans to a more mystical and medieval, personal story (I love the Wild Hunt), is more than enough for me.

So I don't really care about having a specific wishlist as much as I would like to implore you, CD Projekt, to not reach for the stars and spread the game too thin the way Ubisoft ruined Assassin's Creed 3. That game has an abundance of new mechanics and designs, none of which were realized or executed well or deeply enough, and it just turned into a bad circus.
Please don't feel the need to copy Skyrim, AC3 and Red Dead Redemption. I'm sure you can pull off an open-world story-focused Witcher game that both provides a great variety of quests and locations yet still doesn't sacrifice depth for variety.

Thank you for being you. You and Valve are two beacons of PC hope in an otherwise bleak and dready money-hungry industry :)

A night sky with full of stars.

After TW1's elaborate and beautiful night sky with full of stars, I was shocked by a just blank blue texture as if the game took place in an industrial world where stars cannot be seen due to the city lights. Where have all stars gone? Just a moon and a comet? I'm aware of that the sky and environment is ultra realistic in TW2, but lack of an important element hurts the ambiance and experience as well. Please, bring them back. A living and Morrowind/Skyrim-esque sky is a plus.

Second that.

Also, I always wondered why Geralt does not attract attention of male characters? Even there is no single gay character in a whole world? If they portray such characters, it shouldn't be an annoying, insistent and only sex-demanding person cliché as in other games/publishings.

Agree!

I guess most Witcher 2 characters we talk to are interesting and therefore seem educated. We don't get idiots like the people in the swamp and the outskirts and if they are in W2 we can't talk to them.

Why, then, just stick to homosexuals? Why not go all the way and include every sort of fringe sexual inclination?

Know why?

Because a strident sexual orientation is in itself no assurance of an interesting character. And that's what they should be striving for, interesting complex characters. Any attempt to shove sexual minorities into the story just for the sake of it, seems to me, is just a petty concession to political correctness.

Judging by the healthy amount of swearing going on in these games, I don't think that's their top priority.

mmmm i hope they donp´t create a pro nilfgaard path, because geralt has nothing to do, share, like from that country at all!!

PVP?

Yes, only if there´s would not be a lot of geralts copies, maybe as in assassins creed, some kind of Kaer Morhen acolytes or something (where you´ll need to create an independant character for)!!

i really will hate the lot of geralt´s faces at the time

More Dulcimer and Medieval instruments in the soundtrack!

While I thought the music for Witcher 2 was very good, I really, really liked the emphasis on Hammered Dulcimer and medieval wind instrument music from the Witcher 1. It really set the medieval, Eastern European atmosphere so well.

I just saw the first screenshots, and i 'm amazed!
Did i see a frozen lake in one of them? I 'm not sure, but i hope i did. I 'd love to see more landscapes than just forest. (I liked the swamp in the first game). Poland is a country with more than 2000 lakes, and many (if not all) of them are frozen during the winter. I was thinking of it before the news about The Witcher 3, and now i saw the screenshots. Many thanks if this is true!

Homosexuality is a sort of fringe sexual inclination? If sexual diversity is a fact of life, there is no excuse to be not there. I don't say they should just add gay characters to be politically correct. It is a fair and logical question that why this realistic world is totally heterosexual but that goes beyond that topic. When I ask that I don't imply that there must be a sexual freedom as in Dragon Age. There are tons of male NPC's and important characters who could be attracted by a powerful character as Geralt. Sexually or emotionally. That is not an aspect that downgrades the story. If Game of Thrones can do that (although there is no likeable gay character yet), The Witcher's "realistic" and mature fantasy world can do it too very well.

Well it's up to the writers, to be frank. Both Dethmold and Phillipa were gay, so they've already done this.

In terms of sexuality. I am not a fan of characters whose personalities are too tied to their sexual orientation. Like the stereotypical gay guy. Sexual orientation, to me, should be but a part of a character's....character. The more it's downplayed and "on the side", the better imo (unless persecution of sexual minorities becomes a subplot or theme, but I don't see that issue being prominent in the Witcher's time period). Philippa's sexuality is but one facet (and a small one) of her character, and that's how I like it.

So yea I am all for including gay characters, just don't make their orientation a big deal. It's not, just like in real life it shouldn't be considered a big deal.

I will say though that while I did not have much problem with it, a lot of people thought that the only two gay characters in TW2 being very morally questionable people, was controversial (esp Dethmold, given the whole context and manner of his death). So having a good gay character would be nice.
I will give credit to Bioware for including gay characters in ME3. It wasn't written or portrayed as in "hey look at us we are gay!" They were interesting characters, with cool backstories and a role in the story. Diversity of characters is a good thing.

I don't really get for what purpose they should do that. Also i always had the impression that Dethmold was curious about me...

Just because others did it, doesn't mean they have to do it, also as slimgrin said, there were homosexual characters in the game, furthermore 90% of all sorcerers are at least bi.

As long as they don't throw their sexuality in my face all the time (aka are well written) then I have nothing against homosexual characters.

That's not really a fair accusation.

The problem with that one scene with Anders, was that saying no earned rivalry points and sounded like you're an asshole, which is dumb.
But after that, Anders didn't express his sexual orientation. At least not in my experience, and he was a constant companion.

Except they weren't written very well. Not Cortez which is essentially Carth 2.0 and not Traynor with her stupid shower scene.

I am not saying there badly written but they were just meh.
