The Witcher Adventure Game Beta FAQ
Q: I have preordered Witcher 3 - when will I get access key to beta?
A: There is no known answer: keys are distributed in batches and at random. (official response)
Q: How to download the game?
A: Use this page to enter your key, then download the game in the same way as any other game on your account.
Q: I have got the key - will I need to buy the full game later?
A: Yes - the key gives just an entry to the closed beta. (official response)
Q: Is there some more detailed manual?
A: No, only short in-game tutorial. An interactive tutorial is planned for the future. (official response)
Q: How can I change game configuration (screen resolution, windowed mode, graphics quality)?
A: Press Shift (PC, Windows) or Option (Mac, OSX) and click PLAY button in GOG Launcher. Sometimes you need to hold mentioned key for a little longer than just for click moment to get an effect.
Q: Can I stream my gameplay or put some videos from it online?
A: Quote: "We know the beta is not restricted by any sort of NDA, but on behalf of CD PROJEKT RED we kindly ask you not to publish and/or stream any gameplay videos from it. As you know, the game is in a very early stage of development, and at this point it's not representative of the final, polished and feature-complete product quality they are striving to deliver. Thank you in advance!"
Q: Where can I find the most recent game patch notes?
A: Inside this post.
Q: How can I start game and be sure it will have the amount of quests I want?
A: There is no in-game option to select and be sure it will have the amount of quest we want to play - everything is decided at the start by player voting (this voting is also probably currently a little bugged). But if you really want to play, for example, game with 3 quests, there is private suggestion to start a private game with corresponding game name: "1q", "3q" or "5q". The more people will try this option the more chance they will get the game they want to play. (read more)
