As many of you already know, not so long ago we launched The Witcher Cosplay Contest, encouraging members of our amazing and creative community to cosplay characters from our games.


Today we present you with the first entry in a series of cosplay tutorials that will be coming your way over the next few weeks. These tutorials provide details on clothing, hair, accessories, makeup and other characteristics that make for great cosplay. This week - the Ciri Cosplay Guide. Very nice to get detailed close ups of the character model, she looks even better than I thought!

The only thing that bothers me is how the front of her shirt is open and reveal her bra. It's not like it's ripped so I guess it's by choice, and I feel like it just doesn't fit the character or make sense based on the type of climate she would be in. Feels like cheap unnecessary sexualisation IMO...

Eitherway, interested to see some of the better cosplays of Ciri. Hopefully there's a sort of Top 5 official list posted eventually!

I like Ciri very much, awesome work, CDPR! Though, as pointed above, it'd be much better if she wouldn't have the heels and if the shirt would be less revealing. These parts seem to be an unnecessary sexualization. Heels and revealing shirt are just impractical during travels, and they ruin immersion a bit. I'd be extremely happy if you could rethink these parts of the design.

But everything else is spot on, great work! I especially love her face and hair.

I have to say that I also do like the shift to natural lips.

At first I was against makeup as a whole, but then I understood the genius of the designer behind it:
What Ciri does is frame the only feature she is really proud of (her eyes) in an exaggerated and clumsy way,
to draw everyones attention away from the scar which makes her feel ugly
(..if Yennefer sees that makeup she's going to facepalm though).

Of course some people still insist on the scar being bigger, but I'm not so sure about that.
It was caused by an Orion (a shuriken) and I doubt a healed up scar of that would look like an axe cleave.

What's really important here though is that it's visible and marks her with a remnant of a past she cannot erase,
which even haunts her after the death of her nemesis.
