The Witcher Cosplay Guide - Triss

Triss Merigold of Maribor. Although allergic to magic, she’s a talented healer and a very influential sorceress. A friend and lover of Geralt.

Time for a character that most of you asked us about--we present you with the newest Witcher Cosplay Guide, Triss. Download the guide here and don’t forget about our ongoing Cosplay Contest.

Who do you think we’ll present next?

I don't want to be that guy, but... Is it me or did Triss' face changed as well?

If there are any changes, they're very subtle. Anyway, very detailed guide, as always; I'm sure cosplayers will appreciate it.

Nice guide in general, but I say it again: I don't think Triss should have a low neckline. And yes, that's a lore thing. Actually, I'm very diappointed that CDPR seems to violate solid lore and proper character building for the sake of pure eye-candy...

:halt:

But I like the rest of her outfit though, especially the lower half.

I actually like the "subtle" facial changes. Triss looks great.

Also about the low neckline..

We do not know where her scar actually is. Most of the "neck" area is covered anyway. So the lore violation is a matter for debate in my opinion. Now the reason they chose the low neckline, is also a matter for debate. Personally I don't think it's just for eye candy. We'll have to see the storyline to judge.

Maybe a cosplayer will see a need for Triss's scar and make up a good one, one that makes a contribution to Triss's story.
He wondered about the pink chemise that she would not remove. It was cut like a man's undershirt, with narrow shoulder straps, and concealed the invisible scar on her back that she refused to let him see after he had made her tell him it was there. She grew tense as fine steel when he traced the mutilated contours with his fingertip from a pit in her shoulder blade almost to the base of her spine.

Scars can be covered by an illusion in witcher world. Triss model is perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. THX CDPR!

Triss cannot have her scar covered or fixed by magic, since she is "allergic" to it.

Looks similar enough to me, at least more than the Yen one did. This is one that I could happily put the "weirdness" down to lighting/angle etc. (Like Geralt) Most of the facial features seem pretty much the same as both other faces we've seen.

Especially that shot from the SoD Trailer where she's on the boat, that and the cosplay guide looks practically identical.

What have you done!

Anyway, on a serious note, her model is beautiful, even with those no-lore mistakes.

Her model is a big lore no-no, but apart from the scar, I'm strangely okay with it.
Although remodeling her hooked nose and cleaning her face of freckles, just makes her model more boring and less distinctive.

And well changing eyes to a proper color is a minute of work. Mr. Modeler Guy - PLS.

Yup, that's the thing haha.

The fact I didn't mention the scar is because I have a lack of memory, if some time ago I can remember if it was physical or mental or both, now my memory likes playing jokes with me.

Ew, I'm too lazy to get up from the chair and go check the books.

She says something along the lines "there' s a reason I'll never wear a low cut dress again".

Anyway, nitpick time!
She's not allergic to magic, She's allergic to potions and elixirs, she uses magic to heat herself up on the way to Kaer Morhen in Blood of elves and when she takes off her clothes in TW2.
Her eyes are supposed to be blue IIRC.

Generally I'm happy with her looks.

PS. the freckles are still there :D

She says that in the early books, when she is afraid... which she remains through all of the books... until the end of Lady of the Lake. There she stands side by side with Yennefer and faces her death and her fears... standing on "the hill" as at Sodden again.

I'm perfectly happy with her being different in the games than her declarations in Blood of Elves, she has changed.

As for the "scars", I personally think that like Yennefer's eyes, they are the result of PTSD and mental scars, rather than the physical scars which have been healed and the body regenerated. She regained consciousness at Sodden, in the remains of one sorcerer, and next to the dismembered but still dying remains of another... and is remembered on the memorial at Sodden as 'dead'... that kind of thing ...changes you. As does re-facing that situation when terrified and triumphing.
