It's strange to me, how all these people remember about her hair color, eye color, neckline and so on, but nobody mentions the fact that all the witches had their hair LOOSE. Everywhere in the books it was emphasized that all the witches were wearing their hair loose. And especially Triss Merigold, whose biggest pride was her wonderful curly hair. TW2 messed up big time with witches' hair and they are doing the same again (at least with Triss). How can you all remember the color of Triss' hair but not the form of it, you so-called lore masters?!? >:D

We remember this. The reason, I'm not bothered by it is, because it's a technical issue to make good loose hair. Especially curly. I can sacrifice a bit of lore over wasted time of CDPR's artists trying to fix horrible clipping it would most likely have.

Yennefer's hair is her signature look, so it cannot really be changed, Triss's hair less so.

To be fair though I'd like to see a scene in TW3 with Triss' hair loose, I bet she'd look great.

Wow, and I thought the 'basic' version looked great. I wish CDPR considered some of these changes posted under the cosplay news. I mean, your Triss looks better than the original in every of those aspects you changed. And it was just a few simple changes. She looks more beautiful, 'hotter' (even without the unnecessary cleavage), sharper (all that, plus closer to the lore)...what else could I say, good job!

She looks even worse than Yennefer. Her face is like a brick. She looked better in the Witcher 2. And her hair shouldn't be vulgar red, but a colour of a ripe chest nut. You can crack nuts with her face. You'd better improve her design from the Witcher 2. That's how a random whore should look like, not Triss.

This is an example for cosplayers. Vulgar criticism such as the above is meaningless. And if you ever take that tone with an actual cosplayer, the moderators will relieve others of the temptation to read your criticism. Drop it. Now.

Odd, the filename in your picture is still Triss_cosplay_guide_v2.pdf. Anyway, that portrait image of her is in the V2 pdf as well, it's under the image that you normally see when viewing that page.

This was captured on a slow PC. The old image of Triss (v1) loads faster than v2, and you can see it for a split second. I just made a qiuck screenshot and shared.

Because CDPR doesn't need to follow the books letter for letter.

Triss Merigold of Maribor. Although allergic to magic, she’s a talented healer and a very influential sorceress. A friend and lover of Geralt.

Time for a character that most of you asked us about--we present you with the newest Witcher Cosplay Guide, Triss. Download the guide here and don’t forget about our ongoing Cosplay Contest.

Who do you think we’ll present next?

Her face is... not quite right. She looked beautiful in W2. This is... just not Triss. Her nose is so thin, and the rest of her face, i don't know, the lines are harsh, the jaw-line. I dearly hope she looks better in the actual game, because she just doesn't look all that beautiful anymore in that picture. And i do agree with the hair colour being too out there. I'm not being rude to people who have ginger hair, because this isn't even ginger. It's like a shade of colour you'd dye your hair for a costume party or something, just too orange. Again, i hope it's done better ingame.

Ok. Even if we take your point as acceptable, what is the reason to spoil these particular details? I just can't see any glimpse of sense in that.

Alright, been away from the forums for a bit, so just chiming in my two cents. Her hair was loose in the first game, so they went with it, but who knows, perhaps just like in real life as time passed in the story the fashion changed. It's not like it was some rule for the sorceress to wear it that way. @Sagitarii has a point though that it could have gone that way for technical reasons.

Or maybe the Lodge convened at some point after the first game and was like, 'Ok ladies, we need to mix things up as we plot to take over the kingdoms.' :p

Maybe it's Nilfgaard again?! Maybe it's their secret plan to conquer the North Kingdoms via new trend of hairstyle :O

Kinley linked a useful image:

We know the second from the right is her rendered in game, while the cosplay guide is an art render. There are subtle differences and for the better. The game version has a sightly narrower jawline and delicate features. The one on the far right also looks good, but I'm sure that's an older version.

The ones on the right are both the same model. The cosplay guide is still quite similare, apart from eye color and minimal lightning difference
