The Witcher Enhanced Edition rescheduled

According to this fact sheet: http://www.thewitcher.com/resources/upload/img/news/2008/02/Enhanced%20Edition%20fact%20sheet.pdftoday is the release date. I've been really psyched all day and dying to get off work to get home and play the new version, but ..nada.. no info no nothing. Does anyone know anything?cbull

Your post is in a thread that announces that the Expanded Edition has been delayed. Delayed means that it isn't coming out on the date that was announced; it's coming out later.

And more information coming in upcoming days!!That was what .. a month ago? Looks like this group of devs has started down the path to the corporate darkside.

Either iam blind or there are still no news about the EE Release date, since it was delayed.I guess we have to wait a few more "upcoming days".

If there is any news about a new release date you definitely won't miss it. I'm sure they devs or their spokesman Brysiu won't hide it in this long thread as a plain post but start a new newsarticle So keep your eyes on this news forum or the main... it's a reliable source than other sources.

I was really excited for the Enhanced Edition when I heard about it...three months ago. Like many others I put off finishing the game to wait for it. Now they delay it another 3 or 4 months? I realize that rushing this is the worst thing they could do, but they have to have picked the worst possible time to release this game if the August/September window is at all accurate. The last half of this year is going to be spilling over with big new games, with Fallout 3, Fable 2, Dead Space, Infamous, Prototype, Force Unleashed, Alan Wake, Resistance 2, Gears of War 2, and countless others due within a few months of each other. Had they finished the EE in time for the May release date it could have had plenty of time to shine, but by the time it rolls around again I can't imagine it will get the attention it deserves with so many other titles overshadowing its release.It's a shame, because this EE was shaping up to be something pretty incredible. Now it risks simply fading away into obscurity, both in the gaming press and in the minds of gamers themselves.

If you already own the game you don't have to pay for the enhanced content. It will be available as a download. THis is my understanding so far, but then again there seems to be a lot of confusion around the EE

Hmm, guys sorry if this is offtop.. but dou you know smth about sheath? because in eralier pre-release versions there were sword sheath and in release they disappeard.. it will be great if they will turn them back in Enhanced Edition it will look much better

Not going to bother at this point. They could have been working on a Witcher 2 instead of such a long wait to play an improved version of a game I already played.

Using the same 5 NPC faces for multiple, important characters in a game, is mediocre. It SCREAMS budge title.I'd probably be less irritated if it werent for other posters here acting like there is no reason to be annoyed.I LOVE the game, but I am also annoyed.This isnt even a very "offical" site.All the moderators, and all the posters say "Game Owner".If the missing dialog in the US version is Atari's fault, then say so.IF you are waiting to co-release it when you redo it for the 360, say so (even though it is a slap in the face to PC customers, since they are using the money we spent to already to port this, while delaying that fanbase).I dont want to see links from other game owners/fans explaining it, I want CDProjeckt to explain it.Why isnt that a fair demand?I try playing the game more, and everytime I see Odo/Random NPC/Declan or Pierre/Meis it makes me think "lame/budget title" and then makes me angry that it will be nearly a full year since these supposed "enhancements".I am trying to cut slack or give benefit of the doubt, but it gets harder.

Soooo? Is there a new date for release of the EE version? Just a "ballpark" date would be fine. I realize the EE is an ambitious project and Atari (plus other people?) has a big say in its release (especially as a free download). I remember thinking, when I first heard about the EE, that it sounded a bit too good to be true. There is no such thing as a "free lunch" afterall. Anyway, I'll believe it when I see it. Great game though.

I was thinking more of the physical "bits" - stuff like game guides, maps, "making of" DVDs etc. It would be nice if they varied the content (different tracks on the CD - a new map etc) - maybe a strategy guide, new story, whatever.

I'm so excited about the EE. Problem is that I have played up to act 4 in the game and the more I read about the EE the more I want to quit playing until it comes out and then start over again. I have been itching to start over again and play through slowly and pay attention more to back story and character development. But the delay to the EE is really concerning me. Usually when something is "delayed" it ends up being months and months before it is released or even worse, ends up like nwn 1.69...

I would suggest that you finish it, And, yes do play it again, remember, the choices you make change your game experience Also, i know some member here that have played the game 5-6 times and still enjoying it, more than that, they actually find new things or hear things they missed Also, it gives you even better understanding of the whole story/universe.
