For me, the retranslation into English is the whole reason I'll be getting the enhanced edition. I just found the dialogue of the original too jarring to play past the first chapter... but besides that, it was superb! For a developer to revisit a game and address its shortcomings like this is unheard of. I hope it serves to improve the popularity of the game, then maybe other developers would follow suit.As we're in for a bit of a wait until the Enhanced Edition now... how about releasing a couple of example mp3s comparing the original and newly fleshed-out dialogue? That'd whet people's appetite...I'm most interested to find out whether Vesemir still calls Triss "Babe" in the prelude chapter... I cringe every time I hear his lines.

In a time of so many people with the instant gratification attitude it really speaks volumes to the quality of The Witcher game that so many avid gamers are more than willing to wait for the finished product. I just wish other gaming companies *cough*bethesda*cough* would adopt the same way of thinking and take the time to make sure everything is working properly before they release it or at least make a real effort to fix it. I've been playing CRPGs since the days of the commodore64 and I have seen a steady decline in the quality of games. The eye candy kept getting better but the heart of the game has faded, so I am exceptionally pleased to see CDPR take such care and effort to give the gamers so much extra. I currently own The Witcher and when the EE is released I'll show my gratitude by purchasing the new version instead of DLing it. I do hope you guys keep working the same way and offer the gamers more titles that can be compared to and stand beside such games as Planscape:torment or Fallout 1 and 2.

I put playing The Witcher on hold for the EE, since I had just started. Like everyone else, I can wait. I trust it will be worth it.

I bow to the CDProjekt guys. You are all artists. This game is, even before the enhanced edition, a classic work of art, museum grade. Art takes what time it takes, I am patient, I will wait, and I will buy hardcopy of the enhanced edition (even though I already own the orig). A fine game, like a fine wine, takes its own time to reach perfection. I would rather wait for perfection than uncork before its time.

Yes, better a delayed EE that is absolutely the best it can be, than another rushed version that needs more fixes to get it right. They shouldn't even announce a definite release date... a rough estimate, like "Fall 2008" would be fine for me (and avoids disappointing people and having to change the date again)Just release it "When it's done" :)

When they Say " Rewrite English Version" it's the Uk or Us language ? I play the Uk version and it's seem fine to me, much better than that crappy French Version.

I hope you don't mean by editing language versions that you are taking out some of the more risque language as you did the first time. I can live with not seeing breasts in a computer game (stupid I have to but I can live with it) but the elf should be able to say that she has hostages that include women and children. GIVE US THE REAL TRANSLATION WE CAN TAKE IT. If we can't we need to grow up...I only recently discovered this game and downloaded the demo man am I glad I didn't download it before...it took all my willpower not to rush out and buy it even though I knew a better version was coming out. I don't have the money to double dip for the map and the book so I"m going to have to wait (I neeed the book, where can I buy stock in any company that is bringing his other works over to the US they are going to sell gangbusters) but boy is it going to be hard the demo and what I have heard about the game is amazing.Moorowind with an actual interesting and nuanced plot. I"m there.

It's a totally different game from Morrowind (and Oblivion, thanks god)..it has interesting plot, interesting dialogues, interesting "not childish" content (and i'm not talking about sexual content), a gameplay more similar to gothic, an ending that remember me Fallout :))), innovative rpg content like the "consequences of your actions delayed in terms of time", and *a lot* more ;)The edited dialogues topic refers to an enhanced version of the actual dialogues, (that were unfortunately cutted and simplified in all the foreign versions except the Polish one, thanks to recording costs badly counted and probably to some agreements with atari) and comprehend the respective new "voice overs"..anyway it's a huge and awesome work, imho..I'd buy the new edition only for that :)

It has been a week since the delay announcement. Any updates? The other thread mentioned something about working out the details of distribution with Atari. Is that what's holding things up? More details are desperately wanted.

I'm in doubt on what to do atm, only just bought the game and not sure if I should start playing it now or wait for this upgrade. With the added dialogue, amongst other things, it may be far more enjoyable to just wait, but... will I have the patience?Basicly in doubt between playing it now and then again after the upgrade..or wait.

You know what? I DL the game (Becuase I love instant gratification!) but I think I may also go out and purchase the boxed version of Enhanced Edition. Just to reinforce what others have already said, this game is the best game I've played in years. Thanks CD Projekt!

I think the French Version is good. Some actors are really good (Talar, Boucanier, Kalkstein) and the others are "just" good. I just wish we used the polish version to translate from, that's all. When the English one will be enhanced, the French one, who is based upon this one, will be enhanced too I hope.
