The Witcher: Enhanced Edition - Short story on Steam?

I recently bought The Witcher: Enhanced Edition on Steam only to find that the short story is nowhere to be found. Is it not included in the steam version, or am I looking in the wrong place? The trailer on the Steam page suggests that it should have been included...

i have 3 missing items.

the short story, the world map and music inspired by the witcher disc. I only have 4 discs out of 5.

Atari sucks.. did they just short changed us ?

I don't have the Steam version installed at the moment, but from memory, the "extras" like this were in a separate download, possibly from the Tools menu option in the Steam client?

Look around in that section (or maybe someone will post more details shortly).

Worst case, pick up the from Gog version from their site, and you can download all of the goodies from there.

I like the physical items..

5 discs, short story and the map.

i got 4 discs, no short story and map.

i have bought the game twice. Both are from 3rd party sellers at Amazon. 1st time its UK version with game disc only, 2nd time NA version with 3 items missing.

I'm really so pissed !!!

Yes you are right.
In your steam client, hover on library -> tools. There click on 'The Witcher 2: Bonus Content' and download it the same way you would download a regular game on steam by right clicking and download. Everything should be there.

As for myself I own 4 versions of the game and downloaded my extras from gog (I only recently installed TW2 steam version to play again and get all those steam achievements lol) So I won't be able to say if it has everything which the gog version has, 'everything' but most of it should be there. In any case let us know.

Were they marketed as “new / unopened” or as “used”?

Yes, that is where the extras for The Witcher 2 are. However, for The Witcher 1, the extras are located in the game folder itself. I looked into this further and found that the Steam version does not include the short story for some reason that I do not know. I redeemed my copy on GoG and received it though.

Well that's another matter entirely. I purchased my copy digitally, so I am not bothered about the physical items. If you want, you can always redeem your copy on GoG - http://www.gog.com/witcher/backup. Of course, you will only receive the digital copies of the extras; but it's good enough.

He refers to the Witcher 1, not 2.
The version on Steam is the Directors Cut, which also on Retail does not contain the short story anymore. Everything else though is included. You can find it in the main directory.

Why is the short story included in the GoG version then?

In that case asking for your money back or at least swapping it with a proper version actually sounds like the reasonable thing to do. That is, if the product page listed those items.

It's a fairly old game. I don't think they support it any more.
