Yes my friend, but Sapkowski's books canon isn't the same to the letter as Witcher game series (especially the third installment) ones, because CDPR has had some tweaks of their own, and I think Eskel's scar was one of them (correct me if I'm wrong)
I think that short story about Eskel's child surprise was set way back in the past, and it was CDPR's way of showing us how Eskel got the scar, since Sapkowski never presented us with a reason in the books. So I don't think it was a deviation from canon on this occasion.

We can discuss in private since we are getting kinda off-topic for this thread, but I was mostly thinking about how it's impossible to keep a straight canon in an multiple choice RPG (for example, you can have Eskel not get the scar in that story), not that the CDPR twisted the canon in any way to suit them. Alright, so I went scrounging around DA in the hopes of finding more witcher fanart which hasn't been posted here yet, and it's been a pretty good haul! Here's a half-dozen I found and think are awesome.
