The Witcher: Farewell of The White Wolf

Hello!

Silver sword's pommel has many different uses. Sometimes you can knock out gravier with it, and sometimes you can use its model to create book accurate witcher medallion.

"Velerad snorted with anger.
'You carry the witcher's emblem?'
The stranger reached into his jerkin once more and pulled out a round medallion on a silver chain. It pictured the head of a wolf, baring its fangs. '" - "The Witcher"

Oh, I remember this! This medallion originally was made for TW1, but they didn't used it. The 'open-eyed' ones can find it among TW1 files :)

Oh! Good to know similar one exist in TW1, but it isn't this one :D This particular one was made from TW3 silver sword's pommel :D Additional fact, adding this medallion was the last change we made before release, alongside giving Eskel new swords from TW3 :D

Yes, you are right. I didn't remember correctly how was looking the TW1 round medal. Searched back and found one of my old post:
Here it is!

Hello!

Witchers, thanks to their superhuman reflexes and increased self-healing abilities, are far superior choice for monster fights than even mages. But that is not all, because they are not only physically robust. They know many rituals and curses, learned from their old witcher masters or from the books in witcher keeps' libraries.

“I saw… In Sodden and in Transriver… Entire fields… They were lying there, being eaten by wolves and wild dogs. Birds were picking at them… I guess there were ghouls there too…”
“That’s why you’re learning about ghouls now, Ciri. When you know about something it stops being a nightmare. When you know how to fight something, it stops being so threatening. So how do you fight a ghoul, Ciri?”
“With a silver sword. The ghoul is sensitive to silver.” - "Blood of Elves"

You can see that the mod has been developed: the textures of the characters have been changed, Kaer Morhen has been drawn, and so on. The only thing I didn't like terribly was what the fashion creators did with Eskel and Triss. It can be seen that the mod is based on the story of Andrzej Sapkowski «Something ends, something begins». But the history itself is not recognized by the Sapkovsky canon itself.

The mod is very far from a series of games. Because Eskel has a principle:
«I am a simple witcher. I don't fight dragons, I don't fraternize with kings, I don't sleep with sorceresses...».

This inscription is also present in the card game «GWENT».

I can't agree with that. Mod inherits many details from games, characters are forged by all events from both books and games, it's a status with which they start the adventure. Games influenced the mod in the same huge way that books did, we honoured as many things as we could and we didn't negate anything from both of them. One "inconsistency" can't change that. Otherwise you could say that games are very far from books, because they have couple of inconsistencies and changes.

And about that "inconsistency". We knew about that line and we were aware about it when we wrote the adventure. Furthermore, the players' decision, if they will stand for relationship between Eskel and Triss or against it, is based on Eskel's doubts. The reason, among others, is that he is a simple witcher and Triss not once nor twice got herself into some heavy political stuff. And, what is the most important, we left the choice for the player. If one thinks that Eskel would not be with Triss and his doubts are solid, one can choose that. In one of the ending, when Eskel and Triss don't end together, we even have some Eskel's lines which are literal node to the quote from the post above:
"Not only that. All the courtly matters and political intrigue, the Lodge, Kovir… It’s too much for me."
"That’s good, because there aren’t many I could trust more than you. And definitely no other sorceress."

Relationship between Eskel and Triss was already slightly built in Blood of Elves, then in The Witcher 1, and of course in non-canon (as all games are) short story "Something Ends, Somethings Begins" (to which we have some nodes, but saying the mod is based on it is a little too much). It was built slightly enough to go both ways, in my opinion. And the line that Eskel "doesn't sleep with sorceresses" were said in specific context, Eskel told Geralt that when Yen came to Kaer Morhen and started being bossy. And the context means everything.

Most players are categorically against Triss and Eskel's relationship. And me too! Sapkovsky perceives the story "Something ends, something begins" as a joke. He says so himself. As for the book "Blood of the Elves", there is not a single hint of their relationship. Eskel kisses Triss's hand, and she pulls it away abruptly. This is a crazy theory. In the first part of the Witcher game, there is also no relationship with Lambert and Eskel. At the end of "Lady of the Lake", Triss experiences a pleasant sensation from the presence of the unicorn, as well as the body itself and the emanation of Eskel. This is complete nonsense. Triss always thought about Geralt. Absolutely always. She's crazy about him!

P.S: It's nice to communicate in English and Polish at the same time.

I wouldn't say that for simple reason. I have no proof of that :p

The story "Something ends, something begins" is accepted as a joke by Sapkovsky. He says so himself.

And this changes what? Sapkowski also said that "The Lady of the Lake" is the end and there will be no continuation, yet CDPR made some great games which we love and many people consider them as their headcanon continuation. I don't see why some things from "SE, SB" can't be adapted in a way that treat itself seriously. Like Eskel and Triss thing.

As for the book "Blood of Elves", tlveshere is not a single hint of their relationship. Eskel kisses Triss's hand, and she abruptly withdrew it. This is a delusional theory. At the end of The Lady of the Lake, Triss feels a pleasant sensation from the presence of a unicorn.

Yet highlights Eskel's nice gentleman feature he shows Triss. When we put together this with his attitude towards Triss in TW1 (he trusts her despite what he thinks about sorceresses), it's something to build on. I wrote "slightly built", not "they are meant to be together since BoE".

Triss always thought about Geralt. Absolutely always. She's crazy about him!

And this is another reason that Eskel isn't sure that Triss could be with him and he tells that to Geralt in our adventure. For the player to think through and choose. Can Triss be free of Geralt? What would has to happen to make it so? Is Eskel enough? Is Triss a good choice for Eskel? Is it, as you said, a delusion, because Eskel just lost his mentor and seeks some relationship to fix a hole?

In the trilogy players got a choice to be with Triss, even if Geralt's only choice was always Yen. And players who think Geralt and Triss don't belong together can choose that. And if you think Eskel and Triss don't belong together, then choose this. It's not fixed ending, we made a choice there for purpose. Because we are aware of everything you states. And we mentioned all of it in our adventure. But we think that there is enough between those two to make their relationship possible and that there are people who thinks similarly (and from the comments we recieved there are at least some).

I didn't mean to offend your mod. You have done a very great job. You imported textures from the third part to the second, improved the graphics, even created your own characters, drew Kaer Morhen in the winter version. But, as I said above, there is no way Triss can be with Eskel. Under no circumstances. This is very illogical! Firstly, he is an addict (takes fisstech) and has a penchant for suсcubus. Triss would definitely not tolerate this! Secondly, he has a terrible scar. Eskel really treats Triss well, as does Vesemir, unlike Lambert, who calls her by her last name all the time. But again, what is well-treated does not mean anything. They just trust her. I hope that CDPR will not make Eskel together with Triss under any situation. I really hope they won't even give me such a choice! Once again, I repeat. I didn't mean to offend your mod. It is well worked out. I just really didn't like this moment (my opinion).

Hello!

Today the trivia about something that one guard from Vizimian dungeon likes to confiscate very much.

"Weasel crouched, then suddenly jumped up, made a clever feint followed by lighting slashes and lunges. Geralt was able to repulse him. The agile bandit moved into a position to launch a dangerous low cut, when suddenly his eyes shut, he sneezed loudly and mucus ran from his nose, at the time dropping his guard. The witcher quickly slashed him in the neck, the blade going all the way to his spine.
‘Whatever anyone says,’ he said looking at the expiring bandit, ‘that drugs use is extremely dangerous.’" - "The Tower of the Swallow"

Hello!

Because we are contituing Ciri-witcheress ending in FotWW, she had to have witcher's dearest "friend", a weapon used against post-Conjunction relicts and magical creatures.

"“There exist, to be sure, masters of the swordsmith’s art. Perhaps one of them might even have a decent blade in stock. But I have to have a sword that’s fitted to my hand. Forged and finished to order. And that takes a few months or even a year. I don’t have that much time.”" - "Season of Storms"

Hello!

Despite that "Thronebreaker" was out when we worked on the "Farewell" for a quite some time already, we managed to throw in two references to this fantastic game. Today we present one of them, the easier one to catch.

"'The silent knight Borch Three Jackdaws and his escort from Zerrikania, where–as is generally known–sacrifices are made before the image of a dragon. And suddenly they all join in the hunt. Strange, isn’t it?’" - "The Bounds of Reason"

Farewell of the White Wolf will get the ENHANCED EDITION!

Hello! We would like to announce that we are working on some new stuff for FotWW. Not so long ago, in May, we started a collaboration with ELER CREATIVE to make Polish voiceover for our adventure. Their dedication and inspiring work made us think that along with the voiceover we will add some new things to the adventure, to make your next or first playthrough even more interesting. Even if we realeased a complete adventure, where we've put everything we wanted and could implement, you helped us notice that there is potential to enhance a particular thing or two. So what can you expect from EE? Here is a list:

- about 30 minutes of new content within one playthrough (depends on choices)
- HUNGARIAN translation
- some new notes and small details to find in the world
- little visual addons (e.g. new clothes for an NPC)
- Polish voiceover with animations adapted to it

Hungarian translation is made by Alexander Wolf, who is a dedicated witcher fan and have already worked on several projects, such as "The Witcher – Masquerade". You can check his work here: https://www.alexanderwolfwritings.com/hu/

We are also working on implementation of FotWW models for base The Witcher 2 (Geralt, Dandelion, Aerondight, etc.). They will appear as standalone mods.

Release date is a mystery, we will hold it till we are 100% sure we will deliver Enhanced Edition on a specific day.

Cheers!

@PATROL Sorry for asking dumb questions? Any news? Also regarding modding resources?

Patience ;) That's a word for today ;) Voiceover is very time consuming, and the more will come with it. A little bit more than is written above (but keep the imagination in line! :D).
We will give some updates closer to the premiere, don't want to stretch out too much. We delivered previous one, we will deliver enhanced one as well, we are certain :D

And what about modding resources?

@PATROL Sorry for the late answer. I think I once asked if it would be possible to share the models/entities of eg. Eskel or Lambert that you've incorporated into Redkit. It woudl be nice to create an edventure with him as the main character.

Hey I have a problem that I can't open any map in redkit cause when i am trying to open any file .w2w by option open world in redkit just
nothing happens. pls help
