The Witcher: House of Glass #1 of 5 Comic Book Released Today!

We are thrilled to announce today’s release of The Witcher: House of Glass, a new and exciting addition to the vast and action packed universe of monster hunter Geralt of Rivia.

Created by Paul Tobin, with art by Joe Querio and covers by Dave Johnson, The Witcher House of Glass extends the universe known from critically acclaimed video games and books, and delivers a compelling tale of adventure, horror and mystery.

Travelling near the edge of the Black Forest, in the land of the Angren, witcher Geralt meets a widowed man whose dead and murderous wife resides in an eerie mansion known as the House of Glass. With its endless rooms and horror around every corner, Geralt will have to use all his witcher prowess to solve the manor’s mystery and survive.

Watch the official Witcher House of Glass release trailer here.

The Witcher House of Glass is available in physical format in good comic book stores in the United States of America and as a digital download, via the Dark Horse iOS and Android application, as well as online, on the Dark Horse Digital comic book store.

Check out the four initial pages directly from the comic book. See them here, here, here and here.

I'd like to hear from people if it's a good read or not before I buy anything.

Awesome! As I said in another thread, the premise is definitely intriguing. There are a few things that I personally don't like but those apply to comics just in general - not a massive fan of them.

Any plans on bringing physical copies to Europe? I really don't want to spend 15-20 euros on an imported physical copy.

As for the comic itself, as I've said in the other thread, it picks up quite slowly, Geralt doing an awful lot of talking for my taste. But the artwork is stelar, so there's that. I'm extremely grateful as a fan that this exists, but I don't see it as a good introduction to new comers.

Are there plans of bundling the five of them into one volume after they've all been released? I look forward to reading them, but I might wait for such a volume if there are plans for it. And I second Kinl3y's question about them being released in Europe.

You mean pages? If so I counted 22, those that are strictly story, without the covers and such.

The story is set before the games, sometime during the time when The Last Wish takes place, if I'm not mistaken.

It's a self-contained story.

It might be I'm mixing up Sezon Burz with the comics, haha.

But yeah, the writer said:

Paul Tobin said:
Projekt RED and I made a decision that we definitely did want Geralt as a central character, as THE central character, but we didn't want to tread on the toes of the game's ongoing storyline, especially in light of what may or may not happen in the third game. So, this one is a bit of a free-roaming adventure.

I meant pages, yeah. That's not a whole lot, considering I just read the first 7 on a preview.

Seems about right, it's only 4 bucks in the end.

Do they sell PDFs or CBRs? On the site it says something about Apple Appstore and Google Play which hints to me that it can mean some DRMed access with 3rd party application which cant even run on my system. I'd buy the comic if it's available in a normal portable format DRM-free.

Bought it the moment this came up, thank goodness for DH web store for us 'rest of the world' and non-iOS/Android people. Another reason why I love Dark Horse, they think about everybody like CDP/gog.
I'll buy the physical copy of the inevitable graphic novel (all compiled in one) down the line of course :)

You can view it on their website, the comic gets bound to your account. Didn't notice a download option though.
