The Witcher IV — Cinematic Reveal Trailer

+
She looks like she's in her 30's or 40's to me. I think at least 10 -20 years have passed. We'll have to see, though.
I would say late tweenties, early thirties. Definitly not forties.
Not only would i say she looks way too young for a twenty year old timeskip, but it also wouldnt fit what we now about the game.
We are meant to explore the beginning of Ciris life as witcher, if you are still figuring things out in your job after ten to tweenty years than i would question your choice of profession. yes it depends which ending you have at witcher3 but apperently it doesnt really matter and we start at the same point anyway.
It would also be a bit frustrating to have such a huge timejump, though that may just be me

No, see that's the issue. I'm not fighting for female leads. I just want a good game.

They should make The Witcher IV Co-Op where you play as other witcher characters, each with their roles and playstyles, withcher 3 let you play different characters,so 4 has to be 4 player co-op

na, i want a story focussed on ciri.
something that bothered me in witcher 3 was that what happend shouldnt have been the end of the illithide prophecy and now i think we get that.
I actually want to experience the start of her carrier as witcher.
With Geralt we already had an expirienced witcher that had fought hundred of monsters in thepast- with ciri we have a young adult, as which can hunt all these things ourself, allowing us to learn with her.

Hello,
I want to point out what I don't like about the trailer:
- Weird early cuts on Ciri (It's obvious it's her, and the screenplay looks cringy and forceful when it doesn't show her face.)
- Broken flow (The cut to the woods misses on giving a reason why Ciri allowed letting the girl go there. Her death seemed cheap because of that.)
- Bauk's "X block" ("X blocks" are overdone, e.g.: from Star Wars. It looks unnatural.)
- Why didn't the Bauk beat Ciri more before trying to paralyze her with fear? It knew she was strong.

Nevertheless, don't get me wrong. I like the trailer a lot :)

If this is gonna be deleted, it means that you don't care about the future of this game
I did this because I care

And I’m not gonna sugarcoat it.
Let’s be raw. Real. Honest. No fantasy and no fanboy lens.

The truth is:

Most of us aren’t mad because we hate The Witcher.
We’re furious because we love it too much.
You don’t rage over something you don’t care about.
You rage because you saw what it was
And you’re scared of what it’s becoming.

And the signs are everywhere.
  • New team.
Not the ones who bled to bring Witcher 3 to life.
Many of the old guard are gone.
[...]
  • Ciri’s face and voice change.
A spit in the face of character continuity.
If they can change her essence
    What won’t they change?

    • Many players feel Ciri looks less fierce, less beautiful, and less expressive
    • The new voice direction sounds flat—like they’re afraid of letting her be emotional or unhinged, which Ciri always was
  • Overpromising, underdelivering.
We’ve been here before. Cyberpunk. Hype machine. Delay. Cut content.
And now… they’re doing it again.

Canonizing an ending?

  • Choosing one Witcher 3 ending to be "canon" is dangerous
  • It alienates fans who made different choices
  • The beauty of The Witcher 3 was that your Geralt, your Ciri, your world mattered.
  • If they take that away? They kill part of what made it legendary

The Core Problem?

CDPR might be trying to please too many people when The Witcher was never meant to please anyone.
It was meant to challenge, scar, and stay with you.

You can’t “safe space” your way into the heart of a world that runs on necessary evil, deep tragedy, and flawed love.

CDPR doesn’t just need to "make a good game."

They need to protect a legacy.
And if they fail that?
Then everything Geralt fought for… everything Ciri became… all the scars, all the beauty, all the sacrifice… it dies.
With one mistake.

The Hope?

There’s still a chance.
If CDPR listens—not to outrage, but to truthful criticism from long-time fans like you—they could still salvage the vision.

But if they sacrifice their soul for marketability?
Then Witcher 4 won’t be The Witcher.
It’ll just be another fantasy game wearing its skin.
