CD PROJEKT RED

A new board game from The Witcher universe is coming — The Witcher: Legacy is the third Witcher-world board game created in collaboration between CD PROJEKT RED and Go On Board!

Take on the role of Wolf School witchers and hunt down those responsible for a brutal attack that left the school devastated. On your path, you’ll get to explore the vast lands of Kaedwen, battle monsters, train your skills, and manage limited resources — all the while seeking to unravel a conspiracy that threatens the very existence of witchers.

The Witcher: Legacy is a story-driven adventure that can be played either solo or cooperatively with up to four players. Its rich, branching narrative with consequences carries over from session to session.

The Gamefound page for The Witcher: Legacy is live. Follow the project now and participate in the crowdfunding campaign later to receive an exclusive Gorgon monster miniature, a creature that has never before appeared in any Witcher video game.

Hello CD Projekt Red team and community,

I would like to raise an important issue regarding the partnership with GoOnBoard and how it has been affecting the reputation of The Witcher brand in Brazil.

While I understand that CD Projekt Red is not directly responsible for board game production or distribution, the way GoOnBoard (and its former Brazilian partner Conclave) has treated Brazilian backers of The Witcher: Old World is deeply concerning. Since your brand is attached to these products, I believe it’s important that you are aware of the situation.

Context:
During the The Witcher: Old World campaign, GoOnBoard partnered with Conclave, a Brazilian publisher, to handle localization and distribution. This is a standard practice worldwide. However, when the product finally arrived in Brazil, serious problems appeared:
  • hundreds of errors in the localized rulebook,
  • untranslated components shipped in foreign languages,
  • exclusive campaign items never delivered (such as the Eredin miniature),
  • missing replacement parts and lack of after-sales support.
The Brazilian community repeatedly contacted both companies. Many promises were made, but now, almost a year and a half after the initial delivery, there is still no support whatsoever.

To illustrate: the last official response from GoOnBoard was back in February, claiming they were “closely monitoring the situation.” Since then, they have ignored all messages across every channel. Conclave, on the other hand, has shifted the blame back to GoOnBoard with multiple excuses (delays due to Chinese New Year, lack of reply from the factory, lack of reply from GoOnBoard itself, etc.).

Recently, the Brazilian community even gathered over 200 signatures from backers and sent an email directly to GoOnBoard. To this day, there has been no response.

Meanwhile, GoOnBoard has already released another product in Brazil (The Witcher: Path of Destiny) through a different partner and is now announcing yet another Witcher-branded title — while the problems with Old World remain unresolved.

Why I’m bringing this here:
Even though CD Projekt Red is not responsible for production or fulfillment, your brand is being directly exposed to this negative experience. For many Brazilian consumers, the perception is that The Witcher itself — not only GoOnBoard — is letting them down.

I believe CD Projekt Red deserves to know how its licensees are handling these projects, because ultimately, this situation is damaging to the trust and goodwill that fans have in The Witcher brand.

Respectfully, I urge you to look into this matter and, if possible, ask GoOnBoard to address these long-standing issues with their Brazilian backers.

Thank you for your attention.
