"MMOs don't have these intimate elements." Swtor has a great storytell, and it's one of the rare MMO's which don't forget the RPG side. I think an MMORPG in the witcher's world could be awesome, to allow players to choose a different class and character than witcher, which is very disturbing for a lot of players and keep them away from the game.

SWTOR is a huge fail. It had promise and the class stories were okay but flawed, there were not really any real consequences for any choices made in the class stories. Someone would appear for two minutes later on in the sotry line if you did not kill them but it never impacted the wider world, this is nothing - very watered down. Outside of that, it was very bland. They would have been better off releasing KOTOR 3.

I'm not even remotely interested in a TW or CP MMO.
Nevertheless, this should be noted:

From CDProjekt Job offerings page:

That is likely for CP. They have not hidden their intentions to have MP in that game.

NO NO NO NO and NO....wait did I say NO? What I really meant was NOOOOOOO

Making this game into an online MMO goes against the devs vision for the game. MMOs and online games are always watered down and not as immersive as single player games.

I hope CDPR NEVER consider this as an option.

Maybe in the year 2077 ;)

As of now this idea is a no go.
I want to play TW3 first and then I will come back to this silly idea later.

Witcher Online?

Any plans for future from CDPR ?

Mature online game as opposite to cartoonish/mangaish/childish morpg's we have now...?

What you think?

I hope the Witcher series will never get any kind of multiplayer.
For it will always come at the expense of the single player experience.

There are plenty of such games around, but not enough games like the Witcher around.

No thanks...
I think that CDPR should spend their time, money and creativity on expansions for Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk...
And, as JacobWitcher already said, there are plenty of mmo's around...

Let me find a post I made on another forum for a different single player game.

A story driven game that has a beginning and ending can not be an online game and maintain itself. The only reason people play online games is that there is always ways to improve your character. Don't get me wrong, I do like my online games, but I don't play them for a deep and rich story. It's all about the gameplay, gaining loot, getting stronger and finding new stuff. A story always has a beginning and an ending. If an online story driven game has an ending, what's the point of continuing to play if you beat the story? Unless you are thinking of a Soap game. Where every month or so new story content is unlocked and you will play more story. However it will never end.

That could be an idea, but it is very costly in resources and I think people will need to pay a subscription for it to work otherwise the company goes bankrupt. Unless you make it free with micro transactions to unlock more story/lore, which is unfair to begin with.

I'd somehow like the idea to play Gwent online against other players and really appreciate if CDPR would somehow include this option from the beginning or an upcoming patch. (maybe they already implemented this and we dont know ^^)

Would be a nice Hearthstone alternative from what I read/saw so far.

Regarding a real Witcher Mulitplayer or even MMO: Not quite sure, right now I dont really need such a thing. But who knows, maybe Cyberpunk or Witcher 3 Gameplay convince me, so that I demand having something like that suddenly :D

I think a multiplayer online game, with the quality and depth of the witcher 3, should be a sandbox,skill-based, full loot game with a maximum of 40 players per server.

Multiplayer like Souls game or Watch Dogs would be great. "Arena" type combat would be tolerable I guess.
Apart from that, no MMO in TW games. A Witcher MOBA is already stupid enough to me.

I used to love MMOs and I still wait for their return to glory. It would have to be done right which is apparently a hard thing to do these days. I just don't put a lot of faith in MMO games. honestly I would love to see it happen right but I would hate to see it happen wrong especially to this company.
My vote is No.

That's wrong. While there are a lot of on-line games like that (where people only grind), there are also roleplaying on-line games. Consider it an analog to pen and paper RPGs. The story there is created by combined effort of GMs and players. It all depends on the community and how GMs handle it. Playing them can be enjoyable as long as community is actually interested in roleplaying and not in some mindless grinding.

I'm assuming OP has lived under a rock for the past year and failed to see ESO's travesty with respect to the superior ES franchise.

MMO's are not a good segment of the gaming industry for a company to pursue that has had its core competencies in solo-play RPGs.
