Licaon, I have replaced the movies file with the one you had attached. Unfortunately it had no effect on the crash. It is my belief the crash begins with the main menu audio stream, and is not related to the bink video, or the .dll file used. The game fails directly after "The Witcher" title is displayed, as though it cant proceed beyond that point. Bypassing the opening sequences has yet to effect the stability of the game. As of now, I have no leads to resolve this issue as it seems to be embedded within the games files. Whatever has changed within the operation itself, causes the problem. A new patch/hotfix will be needed as this issue has been pronounced on various systems. Two of which are on this thread. Call the coders and devs! :'( -Hooks::EDIT/UPDATE::Who can I speak with directly related to technical assistance? As far as I am concerned the game is...and has been broken since launch. Since its very release threads have been filled with technical errors posted by users. Here we are years later, and I still cannot complete the game due to technical issues. Now I cant even get it running at all on my main rig. I just completely reformatted a partition on my alternate tower, with completely different hardware configurations. Getting all kinds of strange sound errors and animation glitches. All clean installs of current driver releases. Not a happy customer. For Christ sakes even Electronic Arts of all companies who is notorious for faulty releases can have their games at least run for 5 minutes before encountering an error. I have done everything within my power. Forget this game running on any i7 platform it doesn't work. Might want to add that to the list of ongoing failures. Why and how did this title ever get approved to carry the "Games for Windows" border and log when it does not even use OpenAL, let alone have anything more than lackluster operation on Vista x86/64-bit Operating Systems. When it works. All I hear is how good this game is. I want to see it. The funniest thing is developers blame hardware. Well, when your game is the only one not working...who can you blame? :2nd UPDATE::This is what I mean...http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-US/Games/Pages/TheWitcher.aspxHow? False advertisement? Or flat out marketing ploy? Either way it is false representation. As I have tried both x86/64 bit Vista and without OpenAL. I have no idea how this happened. I can tell you that vista gamers, primarily Vista 64 Ultimate users like myself take comfort in the "Games for Windows" seal. As this means compatibility certainly isn't an issue. Answers? Patch? Help?
