The Witcher Remake is in development!

Hopefully it will enhance the experience while remain true to the original. That is, no censorship of sex scenes nor concessions "for modern audiences", which would be entirely out of place in the setting, as it happens with the horrific Netflix show.

Wat? Have you played Cyberpunk? Trust me, your precious video game sex will be fine.

The Witcher games are WAY more heavy on that. Cyberpunk is a joke compared to them.

There's no reason for you to be rude for something several users in this thread have already pointed out: the concern that the remake will face censorship compared to the original, which is perfectly valid. Nobody wants a censored Witcher, trust me.

That's rich that you think Cyberpunk is a joke, but whatever. It's not like ESRB has changed a lot since Witcher 1 came out. I think you just need to relax. It's a remake, rebuilding it from the ground up. They are not changing the story or it's content.

It is compared to The Witcher games. But I do hope you're right and the remake preserves the essence of the original.

That being said, the fucking stupid-ass sex cards can go. They were frankly ridiculous. Having Witcher 2/3 style sex scenes is more than enough.

I've watched every cutscene and recap in 2017 before or a little after starting The Witfher 3, so I cannot wait to eventually play the original in remake.
Thank you!

Good luck, have fun! I don't think I'll play it, because it is a well known story for me, but I hope that players will enjoy it :)

I just hope that the fighting styles stay on the remake, it was a very distinct and a tactical choice that put the player on the thinking side. I realy missed that on the other two installments
This became one of my favorite things in TW1. I wouldn't mind a toggle, or something like the transition moves from Jedi FO.

The Witcher 1 was the first game I ever downloaded for the PC and learned how to mod, by upgrading the visuals a little. It is such an amazing story, I really loved playing it.. And this remake is a dream come true, I am so excited! Just coming here to see if there's any news... but I understand it probably won't be out until late 2026.

100% agree. TW1 is my favorite of the three. It was my introduction to this franchise and despite being so rough around the edges; for my money, it has more heart and soul that the rest of them.

Open world will also ruin it. Keep the areas zoned off and locked behind story progression - each area can then be fully immersed in without wandering off somewhere random - it helps keep the main story and side quests tight.

Can't wait to play a 4K Witcher 1 on the PS5. But keep the cards!

I've read somewhere they won't include the sex cards, hope it's not true. They had some sick art.
