Yep there are quite a few examples of movies from videogames and the most of them are...... crap (to say the least). Seems that if you want to destroy something's reputation, then give it to Holliwood.vivaxardas said:Well, first, the popularity of The Witcher series books should reach a popularity of GOT, in order for HBO even to consider it. In order for this to happen, western publishers should be interested in publishing these books in the first place, and they weren't so far. So as I see it, right now there is not enough interest in NA and GB even to translate and publish the books.
Second, I do not believe that TW3 will turn out a profitable super-hit like Skyrim because by some weird reason on many forums people now tent more to bitch about games, then to praise them, and even very good games suffer bad sales. But even if TW3 is successful, it is still only gamers who can be potential viewers.
Third, the movie and TV show made in Poland were a bit of a disaster, and HBO wouldn't gamble on a very uncertain success.
Well, you can always hope, sure.
Regarding the book saga: The Witcher saga is barely available in English, and until it won't be fully translated and will reach an acceptable sells\audience I am afraid HBO might have zero interest in it. Just guessing of course...
Let's be honest: if it were not for the videogames, the half of us wouldn't know a word of Sapkowski. And we are mostly addicted to those videogames.
