The Witcher vs Two Worlds

Two RPGs and both are developed by Polish companies… Both games' abbreviation are TW.The Witcher is CDPR's jewel (for those who don't know ;D ) and Two Worlds is Reality Pump's jewel. Do these games have more similarities?Reality Pump has already TW2 (Two Worlds II) in the works. The sequel will have:
  • Wonderful astonishing landscapes… we already know from TW (The Witcher)
  • A complex and revamped (wireless) motion capturing for combat animations and characters' gestures… motion capture we already know from TW (The Witcher).
  • NPCs are busy with their everyday work according to time of day… we already know from TW (The Witcher)
  • The character can get valuable info from NPCs when he gives them food or money… we already know from TW (The Witcher)
  • If the character has an acute conflict with autorites and needs to "disappear" he may arouse a riot on the marketplace and disappear in the irritated crowd… we already know from TW (The Witcher), oh no, now it's Assassins Creed I
Who played Two World I? I didn't. Does it have many similarities with The Witcher? May we expect a copy of The Witcher in Two Worlds II? :hmmm:

i have Two Worlds since it came out a while ago.....in my opinion it in no way compares to The Witcher.....with The Witcher the balance between managing your character and following the story is perfect.... I wanted to keep playing The Witcher to see what happens next in the story.....without having to worry about micromanaging my character so much.....for me Two Worlds is a complicated game and following the story is hard....some of the quests don't quite fit in with the whole aspect of the game....i don't care for the movement/attack controls either...i like mouse controlled movements/attacks...which The Witcher has a unique combat system that isn't too easy, yet, gives you challenge at the same time(hard to describe it)Two Worlds graphics are ok, but, i think The Witcher's graphics are much betterTwo Worlds does have a neat inventory system, though that i like....say you have two leather armors....you can stack them on top of each other to get one improved leather armor.in my opinion, i think The Witcher has the perfect balance between story and game play....i have played The Witcher 10 times through so far and am on number 11....while i have only played Two Worlds once....and only went halfway through because it got kinda boring for me

This is indeed an interesting way to get an enhanced armor. Though on the other hand it's not much effort to gain better armors. Do armors drop very often?

I bought Two Worlds for 1 Penny from Best Buy, I'm not kidding... Someone missed tagged it and they had to sell it to me for that... They weren't happy about it, but they did it. And let's just say that it's just about worth 1 Penny. Two Worlds is more of an Oblivion wannabe. It's really not even close to The Witcher. Put it this way, if Mystery Science Theater 3000 reviewed bad games instead of bad movies, they would definatly do a review on Two Worlds. The combat system is clumsy, there is no need to use any of the moves. Axes arn't needed to pull away shields, Polearms arn't needed to dismount riders (Cuz there arnt any riders in PvE!), and Maces are just a joke. Thus, basically find the biggest sword and faceroll. And the plot is exceptionally vague, and the voice acting is HORRIBLE. And the level system is broken... Oh, so very broken. The armor combination system is ridiculously overpowered, as is the enchanting power... Basically you can stack swords upon one another to combine stats and enchant a sword with +10000 Fire/Shadow/Poison/Etc. DMG. And if I hear crappy voice actors say "Foresooth" one more time I'm going to cry... Just 'cuz its a medieval RPG does not mean everyone speaks frickin' old english 24/7... Can you honestly not just say "Hi!" instead of "Javoe mein fuhrer I hail from the Mountainous Lands of Ancient Dwarves and foresooth people, hath ye heardeth of me?!"Basically, The Witcher > Two Worlds. Why? Becuase The Witcher is the closest thing to a real RPG than anything else released in the previous 10 or so years. There hasn't been a decent RPG with a thrilling plot since Baldur's Gate.P.S. Don't believe me about the price of Two Worlds? Check this out:http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w284/Reaper004/zomgwtfpwned.jpg

well....for the most part the drops are random and what you find in chests and stuff are random (aka Diablo 2) they kinda went that route for weapons/armors/misc. items....in other words depending on the level creature you kill or quest that you are doing...you will get higher level stuffanother thing that kinda annoyed me with Two Worlds is the magic and alchemy.....this system is way overblown for me....soooo many ingredients and formulae.....they also have a ton of different traps you can make or buy...when i play a RPG game i want to kill the bad guys and solve the quests....i don't want to spend time figuring out how to make different potions....for me they made it a bit to in depth

not to get off the beaten path....but... i really love the Diablo series....those games took RPG's to a whole new level...i loved the randomness....it made you want to keep playing it to see what better stuff you could get....i still dust them off on occasion and get a slight addiction to them ;Dback to the beaten path.....the one thing i like about The Witcher is the randomness in a different sense.....the story....there are so many things/quests you can decide to do or not do that have an effect on the whole game or even some that don't...this gives the player a bunch of different play throughs they can try....in Two Worlds i kinda lose track of what my main goal is sometimes because i'm too busy trying to figure out where to put what on my character and what skill and attribute points to put where.now that i type about it...i may have to dust off Two Worlds and have another go at it......

Two Worlds doesn't even compare to The Witcher. The voice acting is hilarious though, peasants saying stuff like ''Forsooth!'' ''Mayhap'', it really is hilarious.

I'm sorry, but I think Two Worlds is just plain cheap. I will admit that the landscapes with high graphics settings and depth of field look great at times, but that is seriously about IT. The voice acting, as others have pointed out, is laughable. I would think it was ok if I were under the impression it was intended to be tongue-in-cheek and silly on purpose, but I didn't get that impression. It just seemed like they found whoever they could to do the acting without caring whether they were good at it or not. I actually own the game...got it for 5 bucks at a used game store because I figured eh...maybe they'll release a megapatch and fix it all or something. Nope. Everytime I somehow inexplicably feel like I want to play it again, I'm instantly reminded of how cheap the game feels. It feels like something a moderately skilled modder made for an already existing game. I think, with all due respect to those who like Two Worlds, that trying to compare it to The Witcher is ridiculous. The professionalism of The Witcher, even in the pre-patch days with the long load times, far surpasses that of Two Worlds.

So we can speak very highly of CDPR that they cared so much about the voice acting of the game and revamped the English and German voice acting without extra expenses for us

Completely agree to what you told before. Two worlds is really incomparable to The Witcher (even if it's aged). I think that Two worlds is nice witch background but not nice in playing. I found it slow and messy with all the character ability (magic, combat, inventory etc).Or maybe i'm still in love with the Witcher and nothing is comparable in my mind ;D

Well, Geralt's inventory wasn't exemplary until patch 1.4 :teeth: and became better with the EE... free as well.

Two Worlds alchemy.is not even worth using (broke, Broke, Broke) the only thing I like to some point in two worlds was the stacking of items but that got old fast. They have no balance in the fighting my sword in the game can kill any normal enemy with one hit with all the stuff I have stacked on it. They put a influence type of thing in the game that again does not look like it work at all I was able to see both endings with out playing the game twice, just saved right before the end fight and pick what one you want.Hands down The Witcher is king of RPG's for me, the story, game play and the company that makes it.

While I prefer the story and gameplay of The Witcher, I also thought Two Worlds was a good game. The voice acting was dumb, but the open, expansive game world was very nice. I don't think it deserves to be bashed because there are so many inventory options. I would consider that depth, not a negative thing. My 2 cents.

I liked Two Worlds, but it's nowhere in the league of The Witcher -- that's for sure.

What Two Worlds 1 had that The Witcher 1 lacked, is a very simple and important element in EVERY rpg game, which is, the loot. In Two Worlds like most RPGS you always stumble upon new equipment, and if you kill a monster you might just get something strong. I liked especially getting from a simple silver sword to a flashy blue electric sword, for example. It has some nice elements other then that, which the witcher lack, but overall it really does feel cheap, and I think it is really cheap, but at least it didn't have technical issues like the witcher had. Its been long since I played both games to really judge :)The Witcher loot is useless, anything you pick up rather then your swords are worthless. Its nice that you can buy new armor \ create better witcher swords, but thats rly not as fun as looting. Thing is The Witcher isn't rly that kind of a game, so maybe its unfair to judge it against Two Worlds in that aspect.

I picked up Two Worlds when it first came out as my first RPG, I am a PC simulations guy mostly. The system of having to call and get a code to reinstall Two worlds on my harddrive after it crashed totally turned me off to the whole deal.I picked up Dragon Age and have been having alot of fun with it, though I am not much into the magic and spell casting stuff, I do like the combat and the story. So I want another one and saw The Witcher Enhanced on sale today so I picked it up. Just looking and messing with it a little bit so far and it looks like it will be great fun.Now if we can get the guy who filmed Avatar to make The Witcher Movie that would be something
