The Witch's Sabbath

So, anyone really REALLY enjoy going back to kill the Ladies of the Wood?

That was pure satisfaction.

As was killing Imerlith.

I like how the game makes the Ladies out to be these godlike living beings and Geralt's statement, "I'm going to come back with Ciri to kill you two" sound like a hollow threat.

Hell, the Crones say, "If you do, one of you will die!"

And then....nope, actually, they're just three mutated Sorceresses and the pair kick their ass.

I love it.

To be honest.. i thought they are stronger, it was a little bit pathetic how easy they were to kill on the highest difficulty..

To be fair, it's Ciri versus them.

A Physical Goddess.

It's interesting to speculate how someone else would have done.

True... I actually found that really smart, since we not yet knew how powerful Ciri already was as a fighter.

Admittedly, I was confused on the Crones power levels. Because they paid homage to the Wild Hunt and they're just alien elves.

Power dynamics of a bygone age, I guess... I love how the Witcher series playes with all that old world, celtic/nordic mythology. I mean, the former king of the elves was even called Auberon!

While I found it very satisfying to kick their asses, I found it even more interesting when they were presented as these old, very dangerous beings whose power level was unknown to us players. Actually fighting them took some of the mystery out of it (I still liked it).

It's one of the weakest if not the crappiest part of the main story.

First, it doesn't feel like sabbath, why call it sabbath then? If you plan to include sabbath in the game then do a real sabbath. Second, there is no single reason to Imlerith go there (the explanation is very primitive). Imlerith is just a very uninteresting character with a label "evil" stamped on him and therefore he must be chopped to pieces (he doesn't belong to the witcher usual complexity). The whole sequence plays like some cheap plot RPG, not something from the usual witcher games.

Honestly, that didn't make any sense given Ciri is stronger than Geralt yet she's dealing with the "weaker" hags.
