The Yennefer/Triss choice in TW3

Good thing then that possibility exists for Geralt to realise he was wrong and that Yen is actually his favourite mistake.

The only thing which I think stands in the way of that isn't Yennefer and Geralt's relationship but Triss' old loyalties to the Lodge of Sorceresses over Ciri.

Every time she was talking about Philippa and the others, my Geralt was like, "Just like you chose them over my daughter, you mean?"

In my Triss/Geralt relationship that remains a severely sore subject as does Philippa.

Because Yennefer was extraordinarily *****ed off at Geralt the first time she sent the "friend" letter since he disappeared for THREE YEARS and then when he needed a mage, went to TRISS first.

The second letter is either ironic or showing how mad she is about finding out that he's with Triss...AGAIN.

Yea, he feared Yen for fleeing from her, do you wonder why didn't he ask her first? I don't...

It was not ironic, she was pissed off again... Man, but seriously NOONE cares about his amnesia?

Geralt was also quite a dick to be honest. He was too coward to ask Yennefer directly, so he wrote Triss instead. Knowing that she had developed more than just a friendly feeling for him, but it was easier for him to decline Triss' advances, play dumb and hurt her feelings than facing Yennefer.

Triss even wonders why he asked her and not Yennefer, making her even some hopes, just to crush them a bit later...not cool Geralt.

Exactly, it was really cruel of Geralt to give that hope to Triss. He didn't allow her anything after that kiss at the stables, Triss must have suffered a lot... He caused both Triss and Yen pain, he isn't really good person there...

Man that dialogue shows SO much about their relationship. Everything, she loves him SO MUCH and he just CAN'T return it. I think the saddest part of all books is that part at Kaer Morhen with Triss...

I have more of suggestion for the dev team since they plan on tweaking the romance dialog. If they player has chosen Triss, why not be able to replace Yen with Triss in the love encounter at Kaer Morhen?

First they'd need to 'implement' her into KM scenes, UMA storyline etc. ;D
Also why would you want this? Wouldn't you prefer a 'unique' scene with her? The romance options should be/look different, not the same

Because the reason of Yen's presence is mainly Ciri, not Geralt, so even if you romanced Triss, Yen will still be there as you are working with her to find her, and your, daughter.

In the fan art thread, someone already did that. But actually adding it to the game would be more work, as it would also need a fair amount of new content in Kaer Morhen, and not just minor tweaks.

Which would be fine in theory, especially considering this bit of dialogue from Novigrad:

However, the developers did not seem to like the idea, not least because it would obviously be beyond the scope of "tweaks".

As far as we know, the REDs started work on the dialogue additions in July, and the tweaks should appear in the upcoming patch, so it may be a wee bit too late for further suggestions. Just have to wait and see what they decided to ultimately add.

Yea we're not really sure what happened with this thread. We thought it was locked, but nobody remembers doing it and so likely it just fell off the front and wasn't revived.

Anyway this is a super old, pre-release thread that ultimately served its purpose and probably should have been locked anyway when the game released and new Triss/Yen threads occurred. So to ensure it doesn't get necro'd again, we're going to actually lock it this time and if you're interested in Romance (Specifically Yen/Triss) discussion you can head over to the current Romance & Poll thread.
