Thoughts on weight limit - am enjoying 120 lb base
By default, Geralt starts with 60 lb base as his weight limit, and can increase to 160 via the +100 saddlebag.
I wanted bit more, but still feel like I have to make choices in what I carry, and needing to resupply / sell in towns, etc.
So I tried the popular 9999 weight mod and used the max setting, which gives 9999 lbs as new base limit + whatever saddlebag you have. No stones at those that like it, but for my tastes it was bit much - I wanted what the game hasn't given us yet - a storage chest with storage limit, but not an effective 'unlimited' ability to mule the entire loot table in game without ever needing to sell or make inventory decisions.
So I tried the other included setting which sets base limit to double, from 60 to 120 - which makes my new max limit 220 lbs with the zerrikanian saddlebag. And love it. For my play style, it fits just the right amount of quasi-storage chest extra capacity (except of course this chest is on me and not in town somewhere) without removing the in-game necessity to manage at least some inventory control.
As a note - merely by carrying each of the witcher sets - swords + armor ,for the feline, griffin, bear, and wolf sets - and an extremely modest load of 10 units of each main crafting material + alchemy supplies (not 10 of every single item- just 10 of the main, most common used stuff that isn't as easy to buy at vendors), and whatever mandatory quest crap that seems to never leave my quest tab --->
I was floating around 130-135 lbs with minimum extra gear + all witcher sets
So the 160 limit was basically almost all used up just carrying around what seems to be the "required" items you carry - your witcher stuff + minimum craft items you can't buy easily (monster parts, etc).
Anyway, thought I'd share that if you are like me and want bit of inventory headache reduced because the 160 default cap means you can't really even carry around all your witcher gear and still loot much of anything, I'd recommend a weight mod that sets you around 120 lbs as new base limit (220 with saddlebag).
