Together with the console release of the game on December 4th, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales will receive patch 1.01. With this update, our main focus is increasing the difficulty level of the “Battle-Hardened” and “Bonebreaker” modes as well as fixing major and minor issues, such as bugs, achievements, card abilities and typos. The full list of these changes can be found below.

FULL LIST OF CHANGES

General:

  • The “Battle-Hardened” and “Bonebreaker” difficulty settings now scale your opponents’ power and armor values depending on the map.

Game fixes:

  • Fixed an issue whereby left-hand side icons would sometimes disappear after exiting the camp.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the Grey Rider would not count all of the Golden Chests discovered during the playthrough.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the Strays of Spalla’s ability was not enhanced for a row affected with Fire +.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the game would crash during the Battle for the Bridge in certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the stealth puzzle “Mahakaman Archives” could be completed without meeting the puzzle’s requirements.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the "Some Trolls Have All the Luck" puzzle could be completed if Shupe is destroyed as a Spying unit.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the "Amidst the Rubble" puzzle could be completed without destroying all the monsters.
  • Fixed an issue whereby an incorrect maximum number of Golden Chests would display in map statistics screen, counting chests in the Aldersberg map that do not exist.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the value of Total Time Spent displayed in the game’s final summary was counted incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the Charges for Dwarf cards with Order abilities would not refresh or be increased by cards that have the ability to do so.
  • Fixed an issue whereby interactions with various game elements would sometimes be impossible following a cutscene.
  • Fixed an issue whereby an exclamation mark icon would not disappear from the Command Tent even though none of the cards in the “Meve’s Army” deckbuilding screen were flagged as new.
  • Fixed an issue whereby loading a game file that had been saved while Meve was admiring a distant vista led to incorrect camera behavior.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the Weak Point card in the battle was not immobile.
  • Fixed an issue whereby Mahakam Shieldbearer was able to target bosses with his ability.
  • Fixed an issue whereby hovering over the opponent's leader in the Hym puzzle incorrectly displayed a Rotfiend leader tooltip.
  • Fixed an issue whereby Treasure Maps would sometimes not get added to the inventory.
  • Fixed an issue whereby Isbel: Healer would give boosts exceeding the value of total damage taken.
  • Fixed an issue whereby a card called "Invisible Card, Ignore" could appear during the Siege of Kaveldun battle.
  • Fixed an issue whereby battlefield textures in Training Grounds in Aldersberg would sometimes not display.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the ability of Mahakam Mangler would not work as its tooltip described.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the achievement "One Big Happy Family" would not become completed despite meeting the requirements.
  • Fixed an issue whereby, under specific circumstances, the achievement "I Have The Power!" would not become completed despite meeting the requirements.
  • Fixed an issue whereby the achievement "Through The Fourth Wall" would not become completed despite meeting the requirements.
  • The tooltip of Lyrian Arbalest + now correctly states that his damage amount is increased by the number of other cards on its row.
  • Fixed various typos in different languages.
  • Several tooltip fixes and improvements in different languages.
  • Several stability and performance improvements.

Didn't add the reward for the knickers puzzle? Currently there's no knickers+ and that puzzle rewards nothing.

Also there's no possible way to get all the gold chests because 4 on the final map weren't added. And despite finishing the game and collecting everything twice, neither "Collect 15 maps" nor "Read all spymaster letters." have unlocked. To add to it, recruiting Isbel twice didn't unlock the achievement 'Do no harm'.

You'd expect a small oversight like 'not being able to 100% the game' to be fixed.

If we met the requirements of the broken achievements, will they now unlock automatically, or do we have to replay the game to unlock them again?
The question I wanted to ask...thanks to You!

Also there's no possible way to get all the gold chests because 4 on the final map weren't added. Hey, do i need to start new game to get harder difficulty or i can continue what i got?

Thank you. I hope the answer isn't "you have to replay"...
If that's the case we sure deserve a refound. I've read the books and enjoyed the game story a lot, but 30$ for a buggy game on release... At one point I was just playing to see the next cutscene and dialog, because the "battles" were just very very easy, not interesting (the puzzles were cool, tho).

Didn't have many bugs in my 50 hours so far. The only bug I did have was with a card not activating correctly (can't recall the name) and music suddenly cutting out. Other than that smooth experience here.

I also really enjoyed the story of thronebreaker, but yeah the ton of bugs bothered me as well, especcially when I had to restart the game several times because the voice over cut out, and the times I had to resort to playing portions of Mahakam on my Surface tablet, because for some reason that map kept crashing my gaming laptop gpu driver.

Would still buy another Witcher Story if they make one. :)

If we met the requirements of the broken achievements, will they now unlock automatically, or do we have to replay the game to unlock them again?
I believe this is the question that is outmost that everyone needs to know.

Guys listen here, here's the explanation : if you already finished the game here's the achievements explanations:

BURN AFTER READING: In main menu I clicked the final map and tried to go to the place, where elves ambushed me I won the fight and let the Demavend take all the elves how cruel I am... and I read the report, vala here's the achievement. (plus this I turned every stone down in this game don't miss anything.)
Then I finished game again return to main menu load your save Choose 5th map Rivia:
ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY: Just go to your tent and create anything if you have:
1)Nilfgard Soldiers
2)NR Ballistas (I didn't have them in this save as this is just the beginning of Rivia but I got them in my last save maybe it counts)
3)Mahakam Dwarves
4)Skellige Team
achievement should be completed.

THROUGH THE FOURTH WALL: go to the Duke of Dog's family grave and head towards south east (to mouth of the first wolf from right where you heard the whistle of O'dimm) avhievement will be completed as soon as you heard the whistle dont even need to complete the puzzle.
TAX COLLECTOR: Here is the problem I couldnt have this one yet I tried to open 1 chest in Rivia but I guess we need to open all 6 of them here I'm trying right now I'll let you know the result. Edit: Got it you need to collect last 6 chest of Rivia

So you don't need to finish all the game over and over again. But I have to... because of the Ornamental Sword I forgot at the second map... Have fun!

I actually still have a problem with the Cartographer achievement. I went back to Rivia in hopes of triggering it, but even though I have the Tax Collector achievement now, the Cartographer is still missing.
Still don't have One Big Happy Family, so I have to ask, Nilfgard Soldiers? There was a way to get them? I definitely missed that.

I actually still have a problem with the Cartographer achievement. I went back to Rivia in hopes of triggering it, but even though I have the Tax Collector achievement now, the Cartographer is still missing.
Still don't have One Big Happy Family, so I have to ask, Nilfgard Soldiers? There was a way to get them? I definitely missed that.
I'm not sure about Cartographer as I did it before the patch sorry mate :( I just can say I spoke with every single npc and gathered every single question mark on the map. Maybe you can find 1 or 2 at last map?
as far as I remember at second map they were fighting against ghouls just 2 of them and they asked for help from the queen you can leave them to their fates or help them.If you want to get the Gheso Footman + Gheso Arbalest cards you must help them so that they could join you.

In the update notes, I noticed this fix for Thronebreaker:

"- Fixed an issue whereby the Grey Rider would not count all of the Golden Chests discovered during the playthrough."

This doesn't quite seem to be true for the Xbox version of the game, or at least it's not as accurate as it could be.

I just bought and installed the game for Xbox and am ready to finish the first map. I absolutely have 10 chest icons showing as opened on my map but the Grey Rider still lists my Golden Chests opened as 9/10. I'm an achievement person, and if this and other achievements are bugged I'm not going to play.

Between this and the ongoing issues with UWP account transfer to GOG for the new version of Gwent, I'm pretty disappointed. I've been looking forward to these two things from CDPR for a while. I'd just like things to work before I invest my time in them.

I've been grinded to a complete stop on my playthrough. I'm at a battle involving the Scoia'tael and hawkers meeting at a forest and after started a fight the game went to a loading screen but never proceeds, just endlessly stuck on a loading screen, try after try after try, loading screen, I'm literally stuck on a loading screen loop. CD Projekt Red are one of the few "good guys" left in the gaming industry in my views but this release has been shody to say the least, I've had many crashes en route to this point but this is literally a game breaker because I cannot proceed.

I feel so scammed with Thronebraker. I bought it when released, played it without all the fixes that came later, with cards bugged, and with a laughable difficulty, and now when it's fixed there's a 20% off. That's no way of releasing a product, not at all. Even though the story was very enjoyable, all these things I mentioned pissess me off so much as a customer.
