Thumbs-up Failed Rolls

Been meaning to post this a while back but keep forgetting. Curious to hear what people's opinions on this are. In-game, I've seen both players that welcomed this option, as well as those that would like it removed. Personally, I really mind the option but I can understand those that view it as unsportsmanlike or rude. If the involved parties aren't all receptive of the feature, then it can certainly make the game less fun, I'm sure.

One thing is clear though and it's that this particular feature is rarely used. I've seen some thumbs-up a failed roll a few times but since people generally don't use the thumbs up feature much, this is even more scarce.

I had not noticed this feature until 3 friendly persons i was playing with used it on each other and myself. They debated simplemindead's position in the chat, with similar thoughts, but didn't reach a conclusion.

When I realized what was happening (thumbs up failed rolls) I thought it was hilarious. I scrolled back through the timeline-panel and 'thumbed' everything, making a bit of a mess in the chat-panel.

I am in favor of leaving it in. I see it as the only dig losing players can give to a winning player - who will probably brush it off regardless.

A winning player applying it to losing players may seem unsportsmanlike - especially to individuals with negative mindsets - but that is a tactic to take advantage of individuals susceptible to it. Counseling is a better antidote than removing.

People cheer missed shots in sports.

I think this "feature" may have been introduced as a bug and not intentional. Previously you could not thumbs up players' completion of a main quest but that has been fixed—perhaps that was what introduced it. Anyways, this has already been marked for removal in the next update.

Eh, I only ever thumbs-up failed rolls...

Anyways, this has already been marked for removal in the next update.
