Could you get to a shrine (or next time you use one) and save game after getting point then reset points then use shrine to see if you get it back? :D Or would that be too difficult?

Thanks for the Tips and review.

Will try and get back to you.

Hmm I was debating with myself if I should play on medium or hard. I like to have some challenges but hope the game to be fair about it (I like smarter AI but I hate when I get the feeling the AI is cheating somehow).. If you are telling me that even on medium is too easy then I'll go with hard. Thanks for your insight.

It never feels like the AI is cheating. It will always feel like the player is not good enough.
Dont think about it too much. You can switch difficulties whenever you want. So ot should be cool.

its nice to see you write some Guide again and your experience ArRam =) thanks for taking your time ... if you like you could do a small guide on the ingame card game ? how to play and strategics =) . and how good are the rewards from gwent? is it just orens and exp ? or do they also can start quest and give you items? the reason why i ask is because i dont like card games like that .. so its important for me to know if i force my self to play it how important are the rewards. And have you notict if the game difficult settings affects gwent opponents ?

Let me ask. If I get a haircut, the beard growing thing will stop working? Or only when I get a beard cut?

I don't think he can do that till release day as it'd be too spoilerish and he's avoiding that ;)

Edit: btw IIRC a dev did hint that Gwent does play a role in some quests....

naa i think itss not spoilerish as long as he dose not mention what items or quest it starts .. it could be a simple gwent quest like the fights in w2 . and items could be toilet paper for geralt =P

It will take a lot of write up explain the entire game here. I recommend you watch the preview by angry joe on youtube. It contains the tutorial part where Geralt plays gwengwent for the first time. I hope it helps.
Also... Without spoiling much.... Gwent has an entire side quest dedicated to it. :)

The beard will only stop growing once you download the upcoming hairstyle dlc. Till then, you do whatever you do it keeps growing back.

When dodging always dodge to the side. If you dodge backwards you will still be facing the enemy head on and he can defend against you. Always dodge to the side which will expose the enemy's flank so you can back stab them. Also, always dodge at THE LAST MINUTE. There's no point in dodging prematurely since your enemy can always adjust his attack. Let your opponent commit to his attack before dodging. In this case, practice makes perfect.

Can you tell me something?
Can you beat a quest without using any quest markers?
The quest journal tells you where you have to go?

No brother. You will have to depend on the map. But i do not use the mini map myself. I just have a look at the map in game and try to remember the way and then I travel. Its more fun tht way. I sometimes get lost and discover new stuff.

Would you recommend starting at hard or medium if im unsure what to play on? Should I just go for hard and take it down if i absolutely need to? Im looking to spend a lot of time learning and mastering combat and making great use of the bestiary and knowing my enemies so Hard is the best option for that?

Thanks for that @ArRam. Now I'm really torn. I was planning to play on normal difficulty, but from the sounds of it normal will be too easy for me. I really hate changing difficulty mid-stream so this choice will be hard.

Tell me one thing: is there a "difficulty cliff"? Does the game suddenly get much easier after you've levelled up or obtained better gear?

Well, this is truly disappointing.
Quest markers are the death of quest design.

Hey, the only thing I really care about is finding good looking armor early on. I want to look good as soon as possible. Can anyone tell me where I can find some good looking armor early in the game without revealing any spoilers?

If this is a big issue for you, the mini map can be toggled off in the GUI settings.... just saying...

Geralt can meditate anytime and anywhere. Meditation also acts like a way to change the time in the game.

And how should I know where to go if dialogues or quest journal don't provide that information?
And honestly, this should be a big issue for everyone.

Please go through the tips again... And also read my review... You will get your answer. It really depends on the player and his play style. I suggest you read both the threads and decide for urself.

Game does not get easier as you level up coz enemies do not scale. There will always be enemies who can KO you in one or two hits. And of course, low level enemies are easier to kill onve you level up. I repeat, combat is not dependent on ur level as much as it is dependent on ur combat skills and control. If u r playing on hard that is.

A lot depends on the armour you wear! So be careful while choosing one! Sometimes it can be the reason for the monster beating Geralt's ass all the time.

Maybe, but take it to the appropriate thread please?

(And there is a search function in the forums.)

Dialouges and quest do tell u where to go.... But its really very hard to find it on map without a marker.
Sometimes its like, meet this guy in Novigrad. So u need quest markers to pin point the location. But you are free to explore the entire city searching fr the person. :)
