"title" launcher problem

I´ve played The Witcher since it first was released without incidents, it´s a great game btw. BUT just recently when I tried to start the game with the launcher, a window came up named "launcher", but all it contained was the word "title" written in Arial, otherwise empty. Might it have something to do with the fact that I changed my RAM-memories yesterday? Solutions? The launcher is, as you might know, the only way to start The Witcher, and I´m getting desperate.

gee whiz suggestion:Did you try Start-> my computer-> Local Disk C (or whichever is your primary hard drive)-> Program Files-> the witcher-> launcher.exe? If that works, you can create a new shortcut.

I´ve tried that too, and starting with the CD, the same thing happens.

Smart move, I opened the CD and went system ---> witcher.exe, and I think I´m getting to the bottom of this. Because as I did, the computer started mumbling in the start-up-way and I was thrilled, but another window popped up instead. It said: "can´t "load language.2da"" This sounds easier to fix, and maybe related to the language-pack I downloaded from the site, when I upgraded to enhanced edition?

i guess a reinstall + patch to 1.4 directly is necessary

Isn´t there any other way of doing it, which doesn´t need me to reinstall it? And if there isn´t, how do I ensure that my saves don´t go away?
