You see, I don't see this as a problem. People constantly point to it as a betrayal but since when has honesty and reason applied to love? Who wouldn't jump at the chance to pursue a relationship with someone who had lost their memory and was finding themselves falling in love with you? What Triss did was what any of us did, what anyone with normal human emotions would do. The heart rules the head in love, so I think people in glass houses should stop throwing stones.
I've got my hands on save file with Yen romance before tent and it was sad that Triss say Goodluck no matter with romance or not.
Nothing changes.
I couldn't play with Yen romance, no matter how I like her, I love Triss more and I couldn't say farewell to her.You only know now. I have lived with this knowledge for nearly two months now![]()
I never felt that what happened between them was disrespectful, she was there for him more than once, it was better than leaving him alone in the world without anyone to depend on or help him figure out his purpose and what he's supposed to do. Even if he chose Shani and not her, she was still there for him on more than one occasion. This all comes back to the player's perspective and decisions. She never forced herself on him.
EDIT reason: Update.

She was friend with benefits, it was Geralt who pursue romanceDo you mean she couldn't have stayed with him and helped as a friend, without romantic activity?
#teamTriss forever for me.Neither could I, because let's be honest, how can you not love Triss?
Hmm don't know what Triss can gain if she in relationship with Geralt, beside she is very happy of course. So i fix this for youShe was friend, it was Geralt who pursue romance
Hey i meant like Keira but Geralt didn`t chase herHmm don't know what Triss can gain if she in relationship with Geralt, beside she is very happy of course. So i fix this for you![]()
Do you mean she couldn't have stayed with him and helped as a friend, without romantic activity? That sounds like a conditional friend.
In both Witcher 1 and Witcher 2, player doesn't get to chose having relations with Triss at the beginning of the games. Later yes, but it's clear CDPR made games and story that carried over in Witcher 3 as if Geralt did in fact romance Triss.
Which kinda makes player decisions obsolete and defines Triss character regardless of what players saw her as.
During the events of TW1, Triss was hurt during Defending Kaer Morhen and after the battle was over. We got another quest A Potion for Triss. Even though he had amnesia and even after he lost his memory. He still remembered the first thing he told her after he knew that she surivived The Battle of Sodden Hill "The feelings I experienced on hearing that you lived cannot compare to any other. Except perhaps what I feel now when I look at you.”

I guess that's a moral decision everyone makes for themselves. Emotions are possible to control, if people care enough to control them.
I would've thought if a person loves someone, then they'd want that love to be returned in full, with a clear conscience.
It's the same we don't kill someone just because we feel hate.
But if you feel like this is throwing stones, I'll stop posting here. Only came because certain people commented in a different thread and felt it needed to be discussed further.
Adios!

Don't kill me please
Exactly, thank you. It was unintentional betrayal and at that point her heart was broken, she was rejected twice and she had to start depending on herself. Also, when it comes to Sorceresses, all of them betrayed Geralt at one point or another, no one is clean on that list a Lodge member or not.

But that's the point, I don't see it as a betrayal.Would Yennefer have taken the higher moral ground if the roles were reversed? Would you? Would any of us? It's a case of stones being thrown in glass houses. Love, by its very nature, is irrational. People don't think clearly, emotions take control and people just act in accordance with those emotions. It's no more a betrayal than the wind blowing your house down. It's just human nature.
I know i am late to this thread, but I'd like to add i would like the option to buy back her amulet of the couple who she is renting off if she gave it to them. And give it back to her if they are in a relationship. It just felt wrong that i wouldn't do that for Triss since it is her favourite.
If Geralt is with Yen, so this ship looks good, because Eskel is awesome and cool, and he is second who I love from Wolf School witchers. But as I always will go for Geralt&Triss, so this is not my way.And that's why I ship
Don't kill me please
